Morlan's shorts:

An obvious homage to the ZX Spectrum era ..a borrowed, ahem, idea from "JetPac" (you could say rip-off, if in a bad mood) from 1983. It is basically the same gameplay where your jetman dude (choice for a dudette) is assembling his ship, collects fuel and lifts off. Added ideas: change extra weapons/add bombs/timer and a "newschool" mode that is an horizontal scroller (one way) where you still collect stuff etc but you constantly jetpack your way through baddies (same variety) and items. Some issues need addressing: 1. First of all don't make speeded up videos for your game. It's deceiving, irritating to the eye and doesn't give the correct idea of what the gameplay looks like. 2. The flying is heavy, slowish/sluggish and the gravity too strong, compared to how the meanies are moving. 3. The hitbox is fairly large making it easy to get hit even if it feels you weren't that close. 4. The sound effects are rough and not very pleasing to the ear. In particular the "whang-whang" sound in the menu and the laser, and.. 5. ..DROP THE CAPITALS people. What is up with capitalised game names? There's no point to "stand out" becaus…6 found this helpful

This one is hard to find but it`s a retro gem. From ZX Spectrum style loading screen to every aspect, pure retro, pixel perfect, done with heart and knowledge and it may look as a small game but it takes hours to complete the Campaign and if You like endless runners there is a second game mode - New School. I like that all planets are based on real objects in space, so there`s even some educational aspect. Every stage and enemies are different, some deeper into the game are crazy - my faroite is the one with the weapon "mulfunction" :) - mini-games, leaderboards and huge replayability. Very intense, high paces shooter-platformer. And my favorite - Co-Operative mode on one screen. Reminds me good old days of arcade gaming. Best for parties. It should be more popular, especially with that price, You won`t be sorry. I recommend Jet Set Corps.2 found this helpful
TAU CETI E is my favorite level. Game is difficult, requires learning patterns on each planet, coordination and arcade skills. Well done! It`s surprising, not a small game You can expect from ZX Spectrum retro games, it has a lot of features, story, and high replayability. What You get: - Story mode (Old School) and Endless Runner mode (New School), even mini-game between levels. - A lot of real planets, which is cool and adds to the realism to the story :) - Co-Op for 2 Players! Great feature. - Every planet and enemies are unique, so it`s engaging, - Lots of guns! :) - Special pickups like Hologram that helps gathering resources and Colonists - very useful! - Art is very nice - modernized a little but with respect for ZX Spectrum, - Cool sounds - auto-turret, shotgun and enemies juicy "splash" :) - Replay value - You can come back just to play one level or try to beat High Scores in endless. - Leaderboards - scores from other Players You to beat Fun! Downsides - Some gameplay music would be nice. But at the other hand it`s true to the original platform where music in gameplay was rare. Maybe in Jet Set Willy :) Generally a great retro game with great attention to details. Lot…1 found this helpful
