"Juicy Army: Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Juicy Army". Juicy Army is basically a console game that was never accepted by Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo for their consoles (where these companies have QA departments, Valve instead has Steam Direct). Also never accepted by gamers... this top down contentless console twin stick shooter was a procgen mess that only reached a peak player count of two people, presumably console execs pointing out to each other why they have QA departments. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Juicy Army, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Juicy Army: Prologue" too. This is a pretty cool 2D top-down shooter but I wish there were health pickups. The gameplay is in ironman fashion where you play through the progressively harder levels for as long as you can without dying. https://youtu.be/clS1RZrCyzM You pick up weapons along the way and ammo... but not health. This makes your success in the game almost solely reliant on your damage avoidance. Overall the game is pretty basic but the weapon diversity is HUGE! I think the amount of ammo drops is appropriate- I found myself running out of ammo once in a while but I would still have some left in my alternate weapon. There is also a good amount of enemy diversity but there is one in particular that was the reason I died three times: the rolling orange slice cluster dudes. They start rolling at you and they lock onto you instead of rolling in a straight path.
