My short view on Kaiserpunk is it being an Anno 1800 on steroids. Presentation, quality and production fanciness is certainly on the side of Anno, but scope of gameplay, longevity and replayability are very strong in Kaiserpunk. Wish Overseer people had juicy development budgets, they definitely seem to have bunch of ambitious ideas and aren’t afraid to pursue them. And so much time after release they still push sizeable updates, with even bigger ones announced. Gotta admire this tenacity for such a small team and their supersize game.
KAISERPUNK is a amazing game and had so much you can do. I see a lot more coming in the future that will make this game even more amazing!!! if you like city building and commanding your army and supplies. this is the game for you!!
I was drawn to this game purely for historical theme. As a bit of a history buff, I was interested how well this type of game can capture a deep sensation of a specific history era. Played quite a few hours of Anno previously and loved it greatly. Now, Kaiserpunk does a great job in immersing player in early XX. Century life. Visuals of houses, factories, roads, vehicles is spot on. Background music is fitting as well. One thing I’m missing here is railroad system. Kinda feels trains are inseparable part of the era so I’d say that is a minus. One of the best elements in this game is how devs tried to adhere to historic theme in as many details as possible. When fire rages in your city, firetrucks are old 1920’s machines, with water pumps operating in appropriate manner. Police cars surpressing riots are similar to Al Capone’s chase vehicles. Farm tractors have steel wheels. People on the streets are dressed just like in roaring twenties and so on… I truly loved all these tiny details. Then the cities – as you upgrade you can build a real Art Deco city replica. Concrete skyscrapers, power stations, harbour facilities, street decorations. I feel game is at its best here. Single small…
So far, I wanna like the game but there are some severe issues I have noticed. The game's color palette, graphics and lighting makes it feel that this game was made since the guild 2 but sub par. these are 10 years old color palette that makes it hard to focus on the game. This is on top of the fact that this game already takes up much resources from the computer when running. Almost as hard as helldivers 2 at full graphics. Serious optimization needs to be improved, there needs to be far more unique weather dynamics and lighting. If I am going to build my city in central Europe, I want to have it at least look like the wallpaper art they use on their steam store. Not like I am in the Caribbean where I am playing tropico 2 or some 2005 game. Please fix the coding so it doesn't run as hard and replace the lighting. I want to build in germany, not in Cuba!
