✦ AI summary
KHIO stands out as a creative survival game with unique pixel art-3D hybrid visuals, minimal UI, and engaging mechanics that reward experimentation rather than hand-holding players. However, players report persistent technical issues including freezes, crashes, lag, and bugs that can corrupt saves, with concerns that development has been abandoned and these problems may never be addressed, though some workarounds like pressing escape during freezes have been discovered.
- In english: KHIO is to me a new kind of game: pixel art mixed with kind of 3D... Even if the sprites are in 2D, you can totally turn the camera 360°. I'm not gonna tell you the plot, as it's pretty obviously done on the store page. The game interface is minimal and actually blends into the scenery (maybe a bit too much sometimes, but the devs are sorting this out, improving its lisibility). Here, we're not hand held: you'll have to experiment, die, and finally figure things out before evolving with more ease. The ideas and their integration ingame are creative and well thought. In the end, it's a survival game as you can find many, but right from the start you understand you're playing a totally different game, unique in its kind. Moreover, you can converse with the devs, who are mindful, and reactive. Même si les sprites sont en 2D il est tout à fait possible de tourner la caméra sur 360°. Je ne vais pas vous décrire l'intrigue, car elle est quand même énoncée plutôt clairement sur la page du magasin. L'interface est minimale et s…7 found this helpful
The game is fun in between various glitches, crashes, lag, etc. It is really a fun game with a lot of content, good art, and more, but problems like I have listed above make it frustrating to play, because it could ruin your entire save. The Devs have also abandoned (Edit; as in they stopped development, they notified the community they could no longer develop the game) the game, so I don't believe any of these will be fixed. Edit: The save-ruining freeze seems to be able to be avoided by pressing escape one every time it freezes, but there are also other bugs like existing campfires not providing heat (after preforming actions inside of their zone i think) and crafted chests spawning with items, crashes, etc.2 found this helpful
