I thought *Kill It With Fire: Heatwave* was just a smaller version of *Kill It With Fire* with a few new rooms and, of course, even more spiders. I was wrong. The graphics are simple. The objective is simple. Find the spiders. Kill the spiders. Destroy absolutely everything in your way. And somehow, the spiders keep getting worse. You start with the reasonable approach. You look around. You search under furniture. You try to be careful. Then one spider disappears. That's when the reasonable approach ends. You start throwing things. You start smashing things. You start setting things on fire. At some point, you're standing in the middle of a completely destroyed room wondering how a single spider caused this much damage. What I love most is how *Heatwave* understands exactly why the original was fun. It doesn't need a complicated story. It takes the simple idea of being terrified of spiders and turns it into ridiculous destruction. The equipment gets more fun. The spiders get more annoying. Kill It With Fire: HEATWAVE is a short first person game where I get to do something that sounds completely ridiculous but is actually pretty fun, hunt down spiders and destroy everything around them while I am doing it. I am basically playing as a licensed exterminator, but instead of quietly getting rid of the problem, I get access to an increasingly stupid collection of weapons and tools. The whole thing is built around finding spiders hiding in ordinary suburban environments and then causing as much chaos as possible while trying to kill them. The hunting itself is what I enjoy most. Spiders can be hiding in all sorts of places, so I cannot just walk into a room and immediately know where they are. I have to look around, use the tracking equipment and start searching through furniture and other objects. Once I find one, things can get completely out of hand because I can use fire, guns, explosions, throwing stars, a frying pan and plenty of other ridiculous weapons. I like that the game gives me an excuse to destroy the environment instead of treating every object as something I am supposed to carefully avoid. The fire and destruction are probably what make the game memorable…

That was most fun I had, causing collateral damage!!! I don't like spiders at all and would freak out over seeing one as much as attempting to kill one. Had some challenges with changing weapons, not remembering which button to use. But definitely a fun game
