Easy simple game, nothing to complicated to understand, you have to play it

Layermask is a short puzzle platformer built around a really simple idea that I found surprisingly easy to get into. I am moving through a colourful world where everything is split across different layers, and I can switch between those layers to decide what I can actually interact with. Platforms, enemies, hazards and objects can all sit on different layers, so getting through a level is usually about being in the right layer at the right time. It gives the game a nice twist because I am not only thinking about where I need to move, but also which version of the level I need to exist in. The layer switching is definitely the best part for me. I can quickly move between four different layers, and the game starts using that mechanic for both platforming and puzzles. An enemy that blocks my path in one layer might not exist in another, while a platform I need could disappear as soon as I switch. I like having to make those decisions while moving because it stops the game from feeling like a normal puzzle where I can stand still and think about everything. Some parts need decent timing as well, especially when hazards are moving around me. The puzzles themselves stay fairly accessib…

Loved playing this! It is a cute puzzle game which gently teaches you the different mechanics while slowly increasing in difficulty. The red levels were challenging but not impossible to complete. While I sometimes got frustrated at the beginning of harder levels, seeing my learning progress kept me optimistic so I kept learning and managed to solve it all! So for me this game was perfect; it looks simple but cute, the game length is adequate and it runs smoothly. Thank you for developing this little gem!
