Liminal

Alright. [i]Liminal[/i] is factually not a liminal spaces game. What it actually is, is a free to play sci-fi game inspired by Portal. If Portal was inspired by Mass Effect's soundtrack. And if Valve never bothered to finish Portal and instead left the game quarter-baked on Steam for people to play, lol. It's been over eight years since the devs updated this game at the time of this writing, and while there is something to be said about leaving a game on Steam for the purposes game preservation, this is easily a game to avoid. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3767771872 It does have the hallmarks of a game that could be fun and even a bit unique within the realm of Portal-likes, but it apparently never got there. This game is great! Overall this game is a good game to play, I found some glitches, but I do not know how to solve the last room.

Doesn’t work, crashes at launching, no refund possible, what a shame

not bad - just not quite what i thought it would be but that's my fault for judging a game by its title rather than its content. This is something akin to a cyberpunk/vaporware-styled Portal-Puzzler more than neon-tainted backrooms (which what i thought it would be based on screenshots and title). Although i love puzzles and love to watch people play puzzle games - i suck at them and thus cannot really give this game a review regarding its quality. all of that being said, for a free game - it definitely plays/feels/looks like one of the better ones.

Игра 'Liminal' - это атмосферное приключение, которое проникает прямо в подсознание. Блуждание по пустым коридорам, наполненным необъяснимой тоской и приглушенными звуками, создает неповторимую атмосферу лиминальных пространств. Графика проста, но эффективна, идеально передает ощущение одиночества и оторванности от реальности. Главная загадка, хоть и не всегда понятна, держит в напряжении до самого конца. Отдельно стоит отметить звуковое сопровождение. Оно выполнено на высшем уровне и играет ключевую роль в погружении в игру. Звуки шагов, капель воды, отдалённые гулы - все это складывается в жуткую, но притягательную симфонию. Единственный минус - небольшая продолжительность. Хотелось бы больше уровней и более глубокого раскрытия истории. Тем не менее, 'Liminal' - это запоминающийся опыт, который оставит после себя ощущение лёгкой тревоги и заставит задуматься о природе реальности. Рекомендую всем любителям необычных и атмосферных инди-игр.
