About The Liminal Dimension

About the Game:

Immerse yourself in the unsettling, surreal reality of “The Liminal Dimension” — a psychological horror that will test the limits of your perception. In this world, there are no cheerful ducks or colorful decorations; only silence, emptiness, and endless loops leading to even more loops. Your sole objective is to find an escape, but be warned — each turn, each corridor, may seem disturbingly familiar. Is it déjà vu, or something far more sinister? Every decision, every step, brings you closer to a solution… or deeper into this nightmarish dimension. “The Liminal Dimension” draws inspiration from the latest trends in horror gaming, where liminal spaces become the stage for our deepest fears. As you explore these spaces, you will experience feelings of disorientation, confusion, and perhaps even a terrifying calm.

Key Features:

 • Incredibly Atmospheric: Liminal spaces that teeter on the edge of reality and dream, creating an immersive and eerie environment.
 • Déjà vu Effect: Every loop is slightly different, yet eerily familiar, heightening the sense of unease.
 • Linear Yet Unpredictable Gameplay: Traverse labyrinths where the boundary between past and present blurs, leaving you questioning what’s real.
 • Psychological Horror: Fear doesn't come from running from monsters or jumping scares - but does it really? In "The Liminal Dimension," you'll never be entirely sure if the horrors you fear are just in your head.
 • In Liminal Dimension, reality is not what it seems: During gameplay, you may experience an extraordinary phenomenon—a moment when time and space appear to shift, and your senses enter a state that is difficult to describe in words. One moment, everything feels normal, but suddenly, you'll sense the world around you slowing down, even though nothing has changed...
Will you find your way out, or will you be lost forever in “The Liminal Dimension”? Add the game to your wishlist now and don’t miss the release of this unique horror experience.

Alright. The Liminal Dimension is done and dusted. This is loosely an anomaly driven liminal spaces game that also features a splash of psych horror. It's also a very quick game. I find it unlikely that most people would need more than 30ish minutes to play through it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3736611345 The core premise is that you exit an elevator and end up in what is basically an endless set of hallways and doors that change periodically. The game tells you the exit signs are the key, but I can't say that was always the case. Often, just going in the opposite direction seemed to unlock the next sequence. Very occasionally, the game will open up a room in the hallways with another loop that must be overcome. Honestly, it all felt pretty random to me. Just doing the opposite of what you have been doing seemed to be enough to unlock the next phase quite often. Here and there, you will find notes from what is either you in the past, or someone else who had previously been trapped here. Not really sure which. The notes do start to develop some lore centered around a vague experiment. Additionally, you will encounter a phantom presence period…

Boring, very padded out and uninspired thinly-veiled achievement printer.

I bought this for less than a dollar and it was worth twice what I paid for it. Also there is a massive achievement dump in the game that I personally find hilarious. Worth noting though it is missable and not blatantly obvious what to do for it so keep your eyes peeled. Overall a short run, my final time was 35:XX minutes, but pretty cool idea anyways. I did experience the bug where trying to open a door would freeze my controller and I had to pause then unpause the game to get it working again. Only happened right at the end though. Would also point out to the Dev if they read this that, for me, rebinding gamepad keys didn't seem to actually work. It looked like it worked in the UI but the buttons functioned at default regardless. I made a steam control layout modification ( which is public fwiw) to actually be able to rebind. Love to see a bigger more realized game from them in the future!
