Lost to Time is a time-control focused 2D action platforming metroidvania game, with a carefully crafted world to explore in an non-traditional fantasy RPG fashion. In order to overcome insurmountable odds, the hero, Chrona, must manipulate the flow of time in order to gain advantages over opponents. Additionally, you will be able to discover various 'Magi' throughout the game, of which Chrona can transform into and gain different combat abilities. By changing Magi, you are able to effectively change your combat style and weapon of choice. Chrona herself is also able to learn abilities that will help you navigate the treacherous world. However, Chrona must learn to live with the consequences of her actions, and find out what her choices say about her.

I really hope that more people will find this someday. The game is pretty interesting although there is quite little to lead the player other than their want for exploration. I personally like the game and while I do agree it needs more of a guiding hand to help find points of interest (or to figure out how the tether works, pain..) which is not surprising given what kind of game this is. The game indeed has substance to it and isn't all that bad although understanding the game itself and its mechanics may be a bit troubling. TDLR even though that was only a paragraph: give it a try, £7.00 is not that expensive.5 found this helpful
Lost to Time is a 2D souls-like metroidvania that tells us a story about Chrona and the world around her. The game has a strong focus on encouraging player exploration and making everyone's playthrough feel different from others. It is thanks to the way this game handles player choice regarding the story and tons of optional content including but not excluded to: items, locations, magi, abilities and even bosses. However, this approach is not without flaws, for because of it I (and the very few people I saw play the game) had quite a hard time during the beginning of the game. Tip: if you don't know where to go, look for a place you can't reach and work your way there, or if that doesn't work then try to explore locations you haven't been to yet even if that means risking dying The graphics The gothic themed graphics represent the world of Lost to Time very well and personally strike me as beautiful Controls The control scheme is quite different from other games (you have to hover over with your mouse and press Q to interact or press Ctrl to stop time for example) though I personally had no trouble getting used to it The difficulty The game can feel really…4 found this helpful
I have roughly 15 hours into this game and it is one of the most interesting 2D soulslikes I think I've ever played. The game is tough and full of secrets. I do think the only thing truly holding this game back are the controls. They're... interesting. Some of this can be solved/overwritten with Steam controls but certain things are tied together so there are still some limitations. This is absolutely a hidden gem/diamond in the rough. I would love to see more people get their hands on it. It is an incredibly inventive game and I hope to see more from this dev.2 found this helpful
Weird controls that aren't explained. The most frustrating start to a game I've had in a while.2 found this helpful

Take this as a neutral review. So, I just got soft-locked for the second time on an attempted play-through of this game, and I don't feel like starting a third at this point in time, but oh boy, I know I'll come back. This game is enchanting, and unfortunately, a bit rough. For a game that is so focused on exploring, its disappointing to encounter gamebreaking bugs as a direct result of, you know... Exploring. Everything here is lovely, truly. The aesthetics, time mechanics, world, and progression all feel really neatly tuned and unique--it's just unpolished. The combat is a little rougher, but it's got a good foundation. If I see there are some bug fixes, I'll come back. If I don't, I'll still come back, just a little later. This is an incredible gem, and it's not often you get the chance to try out a game this interesting but unknown--it's got like, 10 other reviews at the time of writing this ? Crazy. Even in its current state it deserves much more attention. Great game. Support it if you can handle the wonkyness.
