GREAT! Similar to Unepic with the humor, plays more like axiom verge 2 I think…I bought this game on Xbox and again on steam, I haven’t even gotten too far, but I enjoy it so much. Again I’m late to the party, but I really feel that this game is something special, and everyone who likes metroidvanias with silly dialogue should play this!

Magicians & Looters is a lighthearted yet surprisingly ambitious indie action-adventure that blends Metroidvania-style exploration, RPG progression, and tongue-in-cheek humor into a cohesive and enjoyable package. From the outset, players are thrown into a colorful fantasy world where magic, monsters, and absurdity coexist, setting the stage for an adventure that prioritizes discovery, experimentation, and character-driven charm over raw difficulty or cinematic spectacle. It's playable. It has items. Its ugly as hell. I figured it was a mistake purchasing it, but I wanted to give it a try. Honestly, if you are unlike me and can get past the graphics, you might find it okay as mechanically, aside from feeling very floaty, I wasn't having issues. ..I was too distracted by the abysmal art direction on my screen.

EDIT: Now it works on Steam Deck. I'll update my review once I give the game a fair chance, but the very act of updating a very old title in order to make it Deck-ready in itself warrants a positive review in my opinion.

A very fun and humorous metroidvania style game that should take less than 10 hours to beat. I thoroughly enjoyed my time killing morgs, defeating evil wizards, and searching for a lost kitty.

An irreverent metroidvania. Some interesting mechanics. Combat feels ......OK..... seems a bit stiff, but still good.
