Trying to play MM2 after install it said "Nvidia PhysX library not found" I had to go into the files to 'repair' it, and then restart my pc before I could play it. file here- \Steam\steamapps\common\Memento Mori 2\_CommonRedist\PhysX
You HAVE to repair it then restart your pc before it will work!
Looking at discussions there seems to be a few fixes you can do for this, but the above worked for me!
MM2 is NOT worth 25$ USD/ 28$ CAD
Seeing the price tag I definitely waited to get it on sale for 5$ and I can say that maybe 10$ is fair for the game, especially being a 10 year old game with bugs and issues it has. It IS a longer point and click adventure game, which is kind of nice and why I say maybe worth 10$. I would've refunded the game, but I had it past the 2 week mark, I'm bad for doing that. I will add I have a brand new PC, so maybe that's why I had some issues, I'm not sure.
Onto the Review.
Lara is Russian, and Max is French. I liked in the first game how they spoke with accents and I found it well done, but in this game it was just eng…

I always told myself I will never give a negative review for the simple fact that I believe no developer sets out to make a game that people will dislike. I really enjoyed the first MM but the way in which they changed the character and personality of the female lead I found to be insulting and quite offensive. I also struggled with some of the incessant puzzles to a point where I forgot what the actual story was and to a point where I really didn't find the game fun anymore!! The game looks good and ran fine but, for me at least, was an overall disappointment!! My first real negative review!!

Memento Mori II: Guardian of Immortality – A Complete Technical Train Wreck I had Memento Mori II on my wishlist for a long time. I finally picked it up during a summer sale, but due to work and life I didn’t get around to playing it until now. Unfortunately, by the time I did, I realized I had completely thrown my money away. Let’s get straight to the point: this game is borderline unplayable on a modern PC. I’m running a rock-solid system Ryzen 9 5950X RTX 5070 Windows 11 This machine handles everything I throw at it without issue. Memento Mori II, however, crashes constantly. Random crashes. Frequent crashes. Crashes without any clear trigger. It behaves like a piece of software that was never meant to leave the era it was born in. The mouse input is another disaster. Cursor movement feels broken, inconsistent, and borderline incompatible with modern input handling. Precision is nearly impossible, menus feel sluggish and unpredictable, and adjusting settings does nothing to improve the experience. It genuinely feels like the game does not understand modern mouse polling or DPI at all. From what I can tell, this game has never been properly updated or patched for modern …

If I understand it correctly, the "mixed review" comes mostly from players having troubles getting the (admittedly quite dated) game to run on modern PCs/SteamDeck and sorts. And yeah, the German voice-overs do not match the mouth movements during the cut scenes. Putting that aside, Memento Mori 2 is an excellent point&click adventure in my opinion. Great visuals and hard (to borderline frustrating) puzzles throughout. But no real "moon logic" as far I can remember them. The supernatural story's good. The voices are good.

Surprisingly, it actually runs better than its predecessor, however that doesn't mean it is bug free. I have crashed once and when talking with the old man at the harbor, it seemed like his lines were out of order at points. Compared to other negative reviews, I have had it easy, can't confirm the act 2 save issue though. It's just that I am 2 hours in and I can't say I am interested. It also doesn't help that this game is not tagged as a point and click, otherwise I would not have bought the game bundle. That genre is hit or miss with me.

Constant and consistent crashes. Using the lowest graphics settings reduces but does not eliminate the crashes.
