About Culpa Innata

The World Union is labeled the 'perfect society'. Prosperity is a science, disease and wars have vanished, sex is entertainment, and the future has never looked brighter. Suddenly this perfect society is rocked by the murder of a World Union citizen in the 'Rogue State' of Russia. His murder oddly coincides with the accidental death of a prominent professor in Adrianopolis, an important border town between the World Union and Russia. This career making case is assigned to a young woman, Phoenix Wallis who as the Senior Peace and Security staff officer has been assigned to lead the murder investigation. Her search for the truth leads to enigmatic clues, and deepening mysteries that challenge not only her case, but her very belief in the world she has sworn to protect.
This story-driven, third-person game uses a 3D engine with dynamic cameras and other technologies developed by Momentum AS. Their remarkable patented facial animation technology is put to excellent use, as the game features over fifty personable characters that you'll frequently engage in dialogue throughout your investigation. Using the classic mouse in a point and click interface, players have responded enthusiastically to the intuitive and responsive control. The game features a wide variety of organic obstacles ranging from logic puzzles to hi-tech gadget manipulation to dialogue and inventory challenges.

Loved the concept, the world and the story. Too bad the sequal never made it into game form.

Reviewing games I played a long time ago: A very ambitious aventure game that in many ways was ahead of its time mainly on how non linear it is and the freedom it gives to the player on how to proceed in the investigation. Kinda reminds me of the Blade Runner game. Saying that, even though I admire it, I remember I didnt really liked that much. I dont think I'll ever replay it again, but I liked it enough to buy it here and be part of my library.

I want to like this game. I think it has some smart ideas (even if they're now outdated), and the plot/story might be interesting, but the interface is terrible. The clicking to move around the areas is awful, simply frustrating. You can start in one place, walk across a normal pedestrian bridge, and not be able to return to the previous area because the camera angle, or clicking interface, won't allow you to get back far enough to trigger the view of the previous area.  Walking around a simple plaza shouldn't be so difficult.  And I am not even complaining about how long it takes or the repetitiveness of it all. The view angles are horrible, worse than the original Resident Evil game.  You are supposed to explore a little, find some signs around areas, but I can't be sure if I'm trying to move into areas that are blocked off or the interface is so bad that I'm not being given the opportunity to trigger the transition view to move there. On top of that, sometimes you can't re-enter places you just left, which can be annoying if you're just being curious because there can be things to interact with there (that you missed or chose not to interact with in the moment), but I'm guessin…

Great game if you like thought provoking themes and good world building. The puzzles aren't the best and the gameplay can be slow, but the world and themes makes up for it to me.

Do not have the patience for this in 2026 - every location, run, run, run - not enjoyable -asked for a refund

Not worth the effort. Game runs only at 1024x768 fullscreen. I know it's old, but that's no excuse. We had higher resolutions back then, and games that are sold should still work.
