MIRO

Miro feels like the early days of No Man's Sky in regards to planetary exploration, the walking-sim element with discovery & chill vibes. Yet this is structured with a story & defined goals. Nice tech upgrade paths compliment the exploration element, giving purpose in resource collection. It feels a bit like a matured Proteus in presentation but with distinct story beats & direction. Has that lo-fi PS1-era art direction if that's your thing (it def. is mine). While planets you explore are procedural, they remain static with unique resource types & structures that you can revisit for upgrade materials. So it doesn't feel random in the traditional sense. Bonus props for QoL features like toggles to both auto-walk & auto-run. Seems like a small thing but it makes a difference at the maps are quite sprawling and thanks to an upgradable compass that populates POIs, it never feels aimless.

If you enjoyed the strange, empty loneliness of No Man's Sky at launch, then you will almost definitely enjoy this game. They captured and distilled that vibe almost perfectly. This is also an emotion I associate with the first level/demo of the original Dark Forces, for whatever that's worth. It requires patience and self-determination, but it's very rewarding. If you want to chill out and explore. this is absolutely worth a shot.

Great game with interesting visuals and great vibes. Deserves way more attention that I have seen on it.

If you like games similar to No Man's Sky and taking lots of cool screenshots, this might be for you. It has this awesome PS1 style dithering for its art style (though you CAN increase vertical resolution if you dislike that) and the dev seems very kind and open ear. This deserves so much more attention, love it!

Incredible experience exploring these planets and a very cool story too. Dev is also super responsive when I've encountered bugs or when I was completely lost.

Reminds me of Noctis. Very enjoyable.
