Morgan: Metal Detective is a first-person, cozy metal-detecting adventure game. It combines exploration, creativity, and a cozy atmosphere into a heartwarming adventure.

Everyone on the island is searching for something, Morgan must search the island with her metal detector to find these lost treasures. Each of these quests asks you to engage and really think about the potential location of the lost item. On returning, each of these characters rewards Morgan with a unique cassette tape which you can listen to whilst you’re exploring. This music and the detailed audio soundscape throughout Glasden helps to place you in this magical environment. Lose yourself in the quests and lovely audio.
Use you metal detector to search for hidden treasures (and maybe some rubbish) hidden just below the surface
As you explore the island using your trusty metal detector, you will find many types of items hidden underground. You can take these items to Cenna’s shop, exchange them for credits and purchase new sticker packs and film for your instant camera. You can then decorate the journal with these stickers and the photos you’ve taken. Express yourself in the in-game journal.
The game features a brilliant original score and fantastic voice acting, featuring BAFTA nominated Charlotte McBurney as the titular Morgan, who voices Amicia in the A Plague Tale series of games.

Morgan Metal Detective is a gentle and relaxing game with a story that although is short and basic manages to provide some heart warming moments. My expectations for this game before I started was that I would meet a lot of colourful characters, do some exploring and searching for items, and enjoy a good story. Those things did happen but on a much watered down scale to what I was hoping. There are about six characters to meet on the beautiful island of Glasden and although they do have a very basic back story, there's not much to really connect you with any of the characters apart from your Mum and Grandad. Most characters provide you with a problem that you need to solve, like finding a lost engagement ring or discovering artefacts, and they always involve finding a specific object with your metal detector and bringing it back to them. Their stories are quite thin and dialogue with any character is very brief but even with this limited dialogue it still manages to remain charming and kept my interest. I'm glad I stayed until the end because Grandad's story does hold some substance and emotion and there is a nice ending to the game, but I kept thinking that this game c…15 found this helpful
A nice little cozy game about metal detecting. I think it could use more polish to bring out it's strengths though. $19 is too expensive though for a game this bare bones.1 found this helpful
It is a cute game, but 3 hours of gameplay for this price seems like too much. The art style is very cute, and the story is also interesting, but there are limits to exploring/you cannot explore or find much outside of where the mission guides you to. It would be more fun if it was more to explore/access in the world, but not sure there is much room to add, since the story is very short.
Charming and peaceful way to pass the time. The art direction and sound design are fabulous and make for a meditative environment to putter around. Captures something ineffable about the experience of being at the shore, no matter where you are.
Bugs have been fixed and The game is a fun little experience. Was not expecting the voice acting.
It was a pleasing diversion. There is no jumping, violence, it's not possible to walk off cliffs and the story line with the narration was ideal for children. Minor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was that under Proton on Linux, it seemed to cache the walking key, rather than run on whether the key was pressed at the time, so don't keep the keys down for too long, or you'll be walking forever! Also, the tape player was stuck; I think it was because it was playing when I exited the game... but another exit and re-start cleared that. They also took care of smaller details, like there's nothing to dig up in the church grounds. Another minor thing is that I couldn't find out how to put blank pages in the book, to put my polaroids in. All in all, however, an enjoyable diversion. Also, it didn't take a power system to run it. My "working" PC only has a 750ti installed and it ran fine.
