My Ex-future Family

Unfortunately, I’m one of those people that have to try a game out myself to get an idea how bad/good it is. My expectations for this one were not high but I was still disappointed. The writing and story was childish and poorly translated. Supposedly, you can choose between being a “Goodboy” or a “Badass” but the writing tells it as though you’re a manipulative, selfish jerk regardless of your choices. The game also comes off as extremely misogynistic; Woman are shallow and treated as objects. You could argue that it’s an adult game and not meant to be taken seriously, but the childish writing and poor translation makes it glaringly uncomfortable. As an example, you help one of the girls fix her Wifi and she hands you a paddle, telling you to slap her breasts as a reward for helping her. You reply “Great! It’s going to hurt, but you’ll like it!” I’m ashamed to say I did not quit right then and there. So far, the only good thing I can say about this game are the character models. Some people said they were older, but I liked the look of them anyway. Normally I would still give a positive review even though I personally disliked the game, thinking that there might be someone somewher…

I knew the English would not be good, it is worse than expected. I thought animations would be decent, they are not good. Minigames are bad. Dev has a funny idea of what consensual is, guess he can claim stuff is consensual if he believes it, even if his definition of that word is different from the rest of the world

My Ex-future Family is a classic novella with the theme of an unhappy family. In addition, it tries to be partly a novella from a university environment and throws in a line about MC´s amnesia. Unfortunately, in the end, not a single part is strong enough to pull the novella out of a very difficult average. The novella offers a lot of characters to romance, but gives them so little screen time that the characters become almost strangers. You don't know their motivations, almost nothing about their background, and that's not caused by amnesia. But not to criticise, I really liked the stamina function, which at least partially forces players to decide what they actually want and forces them to turn on the game at least once more. But in the end, unfortunately, with the areas the game ventures into and with the competition, it is currently more of a title that you will bother with once or twice and leave it alone.

I enjoyed playing through M.E.F.F season 1 and am working on season 2. The models are not top tier, but when involved in a good story I don't really notice that drawback. The dialog in English isn't very well written, sometimes doesn't make sense for the current situation. There is plenty of stuff to do in the game things to collect. Following the progress of the characters and discovering how things develop through the choices is fun. I can recommend this game if you are not picky about the English text or are not too concerned about high quality model textures and animation. Discord: Jaim Sandar
