This is game is the definition of average, I mean, the girl desing is good, and that's the only good thing that this game has, the story is absolutely average, simple, and boring. The mc doesn't have any kind of personality, the typical introverted guy, who's only personality is that he's introverted, that's all, all his dialogues are about how introverted he is. The girl is even worse, her personality is that she likes to eat, and that she comes from the future, that's all. She doesn't explain at any point how she managed to go back in time (at least as far as I played, and I highly doubt it's explained seeing the mediocre quality of the script). Literally the entire script of the game is: -Hi, I'm from the future, I'm your girlfriend, I'm hungry. It's that repeated over and over and over and over again, there's nothing else. It's absolutely boring and there's no reason to play it.8 found this helpful
This visual novel teaches us to love a person for who they are, not who we think or expect them to be. To enjoy even the quiet moments together and simply be there for your partner.1 found this helpful
I got this game ages ago when I was in school, and played its entirety during the time spent on the bus there and back It is, without a doubt, one of my favorite games ever, doing what almost no other piece of media has been able to for me, making me cry I cannot recommend it and its fantastic writing enough1 found this helpful
I thought I wouldn’t cry, but I cried more often than I could have imagined—in terms of duration, frequency, and probably the sheer volume of tears, too. The game unexpectedly struck a deep chord within me. Just when I thought it was over, the next moment came, and then the next, and I just needed a break. Way too many of Haein’s lines could have been mine. That’s why this game was a massive trigger fest for me personally—because unlike the game, my own life doesn't have a happy ending. And I believe a lot of other men out there feel exactly the same way. [SPOILERS AHEAD]
By the way, I still can’t get over the fact that she’s 15 and he’s 17. This game played me like a puzzle. It wasn’t me playing the game—the game was playing with me. Unbelievable. But the part about the black squirrel and how you could actually eat it really hit me in a whole different way. I think that’s one of my absolute favorite moments. The music fit perfectly and cut incredibly deep into my emotional wounds during certain scenes. Phenomenal work!
(Note: Since my English is very poor, I used a translator to write this review. I hope everything makes sense.)
I don't play a lot of visual novels but i loved this game. It's a love story with a surprising depth that also involves time travel. I will definitely play this again sometime and i recommend it to anyone looking for a unique love story
My So-called Future Girlfriend, developed and published by TALESSHOP Co., Ltd. with support from Digicon and Smilegate, is a visual novel that manages to turn a seemingly ordinary premise into a moving exploration of loneliness, human connection, and the passage of time. At first glance, it appears to be a typical romance story aimed at the male audience—a solitary protagonist meets an intriguing girl who abruptly enters his life and claims to be from the future. The setup hints at familiar tropes from dating sims and light romantic comedies, but as the story progresses, it reveals far more emotional depth and thematic ambition than expected. What begins as an almost playful encounter with a mysterious visitor evolves into a heartfelt and introspective experience about the human need for companionship and the courage to move forward when life feels stagnant. The story centers on an ordinary young man whose life is defined by monotony and emotional isolation. One day, his world changes when a girl greets him with a warm “Nice to meet you” and introduces herself as someone from the future. What could have easily devolved into a simple romantic fantasy instead becomes a nuanced dialo…
