This co-op horror game is really great. Most players enjoy the game with friends, but I mostly play it solo. I love walking around the forest, finding some mysterious location and trying to stay alive while there are scary monsters hunting me. The process of finding and gathering mushrooms is highly addictive, so you should think about collecting the right amount (even more) in time. Each map is unique, and it gives you a reason to keep exploring and searching for spots, locations, and different kinds of mushrooms. The game always keeps you guessing about what or who might be lurking behind the trees, in the bushes, or even in the safe zones (at first glance). Exploring never gets old because there is always something new to discover, and it is great that you have to adapt your strategy for each mission based on the goals, time and equipment. Sometimes, you just do not know what to do with the new monster or when you find a new location so it bears consequences (in most cases - deadly) and that is when the codex can be a lifesaver. Monsters can be terrifying in their own way, as you never know when monsters will find you in the forest, and whatever you run or fight to…6 found this helpful

This game is definitely a challenge! While your team may spawn together, the forest has a mind of its own and can separate players by teleporting them to different locations. There are multiple areas to explore, mycelium to collect, and plenty of dangers waiting around every corner. I played this with a team of four, and although we had a great time, we died more often than we'd like to admit. Maybe you'll have better luck than we did!3 found this helpful
The Good
Spooky atmosphere: Dimly lit forest with ominous noises creeps me out. The challenge: Early on I lost like 2/3 of my runs. Even now I only extract 3/4 of the time. Risk/reward gameplay: Do you go fast to try and loot as much as you can or do you be cautious and avoid monsters/traps? Buy a lot of equipment and take big objectives, risking a big loss? Variety: There's enough locations and monsters that it keeps things fresh, but few enough to learn them all with moderate practice.
The Bad
Bugs: It's early access, there's some bugs. Some things are janky, but the developer is pretty good about fixing them in updates. The challenge (again): It's hard. Sometimes frustratingly so.
Final Verdict
Mycelium is one of my favorite horror games, always keeps me on edge. If you're looking for a challenging horror extraction game, I highly recommend it.2 found this helpful

Not just another co-op slop, a masterclass in atmosphere and chaos. If you’re tired of generic, soulless co-op extraction games, Mycelium: The Silent Contract by the indie studio Po Kolu is exactly the breath of fresh air you’ve been waiting for. After spending more than 12 hours in it, I can confidently say this is a massive hidden gem that deserves way more attention. Here’s why it’s worth your time: Pure Atmosphere & Dread: This game is genuinely unsettling. The ambient sounds, eerie music, and bizarre environments create a constant feeling of unease. Best of all, it doesn’t rely on cheap jumpscares. The horror slowly gets under your skin and keeps you paranoid about what’s around the next corner. Peak Co-op Comedy & Chaos: While it’s scary, playing with friends leads to some of the funniest organic moments you’ll ever experience. One second you’re carefully sneaking around, and the next, your teammate randomly gets sucked into a portal or triggers absolute chaos. It strikes the perfect balance between high-tension horror and hilarious cooperative blunders. A Story that Actually Matters: This isn’t just a mindless "run, loot, escape" loop. There’s a fascinating mystery…
