About Myha: Return to the Lost Island

A LOST ISLAND ON A FARAWAY MOON
From the creators of ASA: A Space Adventure and RoonSehv: NeTerra
About
Myha: Return to the Lost Island is a first person scifi adventure game developed by Denis Martin with Unreal Engine 4, based on the Black Cube series created by Simon Mesnard. It was funded on Kickstarter in November 2017.
Story
"2012. You are a cosmonaut from the country of Tongolia on planet Terra, sent to the Moon to identify a distress signal. It was supposed to be the one of Philippe Forté, an astronaut who disappeared the year before. But when you land and explore the moon, there is no more signal. Mysterious events occur: you discover a strange Black Cube artefact that teleports you to an unidentified island, in an all new world. This island is in another solar system, far away, on a moon called Myha. There, someone was obviously waiting for you in order to test you... For what purpose?"

I'm roughly 3 hours into this game, and I am just stuck and frustrated. I'm not stupid. I solved Myst, Riven, and Quern without any significant assistance. But due to the amount of time spent and zero progress made, I started looking at a guide. I'm already going, "how the hell is anyone supposed to figure this out?" Possible spoilers: This game has hidden audio cues, which are my bane. It is one thing if I press a button and I hear machinery moving. But if I am in a forest and I hear birds, that's normal ambiance, not a clue. This game uses ambiance and expects you to interpret said ambiance as a clue. The game does a poor job at keeping the player informed on what is a puzzle, what isn't, and where they need to go next. For example, there are colored lanterns. What do the lanterns mean? My first instinct is they might be indicators to the sequence in which I'm supposed to solve the puzzles. ROYGBV, right? Nope. HUGE MISSED OPPORTUNITY. I go up into a tower and read a note that gives me an obvious hint, except that's not what I'm supposed to do next. I'm actually supposed to solve a bird puzzle which directs me to a rocket ship. But I'm not actually supposed to go to the rocket…4 found this helpful
Hi - I've done a lot of games of this kind, this one is definitely recommended. Pros: Nice scenes and music, relaxing (so take your time), makes you think, makes you notice things and connect the dots. I saw a comment by someone who said something to the effect, "if you see something strange or not quite right, explore it further, it's perhaps part of the solution", which helped for this game's mindset. Cons: Night and day drove me nuts as they switch too often. When night came, I would load a saved game to see what I was doing. One puzzle was haphazard with no logic. Once solved, there was a written note that threw me off for the last puzzle. I had to, for the first time, go to a walkthrough on Google to see if I was on the right track which I was. For the developers, the note was about the planetarium...2 found this helpful
I decided to give it a thumbs up, even though the game is not flawless. However the developers are on the right path... The Rhem model train easter egg brought some nostalgia... :)
This game kinda sucks and I'm saying this as a huge fan of those kind of games. It reminds me of Uru Live, in a very bad way.
my favourite game :)
Absolutely dreadful in my opinion and I love games like this. The navigation is just pathetic, irritating and difficult and it all just LOOKS very poor. Really surprised. I've totally deleted it from my computer and requested a refund. Irrespective of the result of that request I never want to see this game again.
