Mystic Pillars X Kantara from Holy Cow Productions is a puzzle-driven experience that blends logic challenges with a strong sense of cultural storytelling, creating something that feels both grounded and quietly distinctive. Rather than relying on complex mechanics or high-intensity gameplay, it focuses on clarity, structure, and atmosphere, placing players in a drought-stricken kingdom where solving puzzles directly contributes to restoring balance to the land. This framing gives the experience a sense of purpose from the outset, turning what could have been abstract challenges into meaningful actions within a larger narrative. The gameplay is built around a consistent puzzle system inspired by resource distribution mechanics, where players must carefully move units across pillars to achieve a target configuration. The rules are simple enough to understand quickly, but the challenge lies in the constraints—each move affects the entire system, and solutions often require thinking several steps ahead. At 0,45€, i.e., 0,0045€ per 1 out of its 100 puzzles, it's hard to not recommend this, but good luck not growing tired of it before reaching 50. Still, interesting puzzle-mechanic as such, and also... well... Indian kitsch. I recommend the puzzles.

The mathematical idea at the core of these puzzles didn't seem like there was much to it, at first, but the developers do ultimately find a number of inventive way to use it, and the levels never got stale or repetitive. There's a surprising diversity of challenges, include some that are quite fiendish. The frame story that's told alongside the puzzles is also interesting and solidly illustrated, but it feels somewhat disconnected from the puzzles themselves, unfortunately. Definitely worth the price, though. 9/10

The artstyle of this game is especially worth studying for artists that want to portray characters of southwest asian descent. Its not just about "make character brown". Very well done! And an interesting take on puzzle games I've not seen before. If you're a fan of puzzle games it might not be hard, but certainly worth playing, especially to support indie Indian devs.
