Only reason I played this game was for My Career mode. Then they shut down the servers that My Career for some reason needs only a couple of years after the game came out. Never buying another NBA 2k2 found this helpful

NBA 2K25 is a step forward in a few key areas, a sidestep in others, and a reminder that the franchise still can’t escape its long‑standing issues. Gameplay is the strongest it’s been in years. On‑ball defense finally feels authoritative, physicality in the paint matters, and the new foot‑planting system gives movement a grounded, realistic weight. When the game is flowing, it delivers some of the best basketball moments the series has ever had. But the old problems are still here. AI rotations remain inconsistent. Animations still override user input at the worst times. And MyCareer continues to feel less like a basketball journey and more like a microtransaction obstacle course.
