pretty disappointing, especially coming off the first game but still a pass as not much comes close to this or painkiller. this outing is less polished and shorter while also being expanded in terms of content. the ultimate sin of this game is that it is somehow easier than the first game by like 4 different ways. nearly every encounter has a tall box or something to sit on top of while enemies gather around you and wait to die. almost every encounter in lost company also has.. company. these ai helper guys are pretty much akin to the invincible allies in call of duty and whatever moments you would have had with the game are now theirs. pretty much any situation i was in i could just back off or hop on a box and let the ai allies take care of business. this game does a better job of applying invisible walls because most slopes in this engine you can just fly up but I did encounter parts of the level that weren't modeled or textured and you can just look out into nothing which the first game didn't have that I could find at least. lots of iffy translation in the objectives and most things while it tells you to find a way or something it just means kill everything in the room you are…2 found this helpful
Old school killing spree. Just don't think and shoot everything in sight. It gets job done when you're bored or just pissed off. Don't overthink it just buy on sale and annihilate monsters!
1 found this helpful
The charms of the first game quickly fade in this prequel. The absurdity of the first games story was great, but a prequel with all the surprises ruined makes you focus on the bad things you might have ignored previously. Poor level design, reused bosses and levels, reused weapons. a combo system that is lackluster and enemies that take far too long to kill until the last 2 levels of the game. I cautiously recommend the original Necrovision. And genuinely advise you to skip this one.1 found this helpful
Really bad fov, crazy muzzle flash so if you want a epileptic fit this is the game for you.
This game is one of my most favorite out there, sure a lot of it comes from nostalgia playing it on my dads crusty old laptop that is still kicking to this day but even under neath all of my memories the game itself is surprisingly insane. The only thing that I can imagine holding this game back is maybe the funding and not so great devs, because the idea itself is like so creative, zombies mixed with vampires and hell in the first world war, like thats crazy and I love it. And one thing that no one will take away from me is the atmosphere in this game. Like all of the levels except for the last one id say have such an eerie and insane vibe to it, the whole game and the old graphics make it even better, especially the monastery or what is it called. I genuinely sat for like 10 minutes in the giant church with the huge beds just soaking it all in. And at least for me it is a very hard game so I would advise playing with godmode but I just suck at it so... I would really love to see some bigger better equpied and better funded studio remake this game. Hopefully in some universe, God I love this game nostalgia or not...
A better overall experience than it's main game but severely lacking in the lets say: "shock and awe" factor. NecroVisioN: Lost Company is a Prequel Sequel to incredibly janky, weird, but very unique FPS, NecroVisioN both eveloped by The Farm 51. You play as Jonas Zimmermann, a german soldier during WWI and one of the antagonists early on in the base game. Following him seeing the zombies start to break out in the trenches as well as his decent into becoming the next user of the Shadow Hand, a gauntlet made by underground vampires. If you are not familiar with NercoVisioN's setting that sentence would be absolute bonkers. The game does a great job on improving NecroVisioN's gameplay loop in both adding more and streamlining the progression to MOSTLY play more towards it's strengths as much as they possibly could, but at the cost at not really seeing the more fantastical elements that the base game gave amble room to express. Gameplay of Lost Company is more or less the exact same as the main game, which shouldn't be a surprise, of a FPS Melee combat hybrid with a combo system, bullet time, and more. But you do have a few new inclusions, such as some new melee and gun weapons, n…
