Lots of people claim to love challenging games, yet when it comes to actual challenges like this game - people complain about bad controls and similar "obstacles" that make game harder to complete. But isn't that's where real challenge is? - more obstacles - > harder to beat. In this game, you don't just need perfect timing, but precision and learning curve is needed to complete the levels. It's one of the simplest, in no way perfect yet one of the best minimalist fast-paced puzzle games you can find on Steam -- well maybe there are lots of newer games that offer better challenges, but this one is definitely hard enough to compete with others in the same genre - whatever the reason be. Only bad things that I personally find in this game are that 1 - there is no tutorial and somehow people haven't tried pressing space which stops the character cube from moving and 2 - I don't like option to skip the challenges. It'd be better if there was no skip option. But at least you can use it for easy achievements and 3 - price of the game. I got it from free from SteamGifts giveaway and right now it costs 45 cents in a sale, but at a full price, I don't think I'd ever buy this game. Otherwis…1 found this helpful
It's an achievement farmer with glitchy and bad controls in which the developer had the great idea to add a hotkey to skip levels instead of fixing said controls.
Neon Hardcore, developed by Laush Dmitriy Sergeevich and published by Laush Studio, is a compact but punishing indie action-platformer that places precision, timing, and player discipline above all else. On the surface, its presentation is extremely minimal: a glowing green cube, stark geometric levels, and sharp red hazards set against dark backgrounds. Yet beneath this stripped-down exterior lies a game that is unapologetically focused on challenge, designed to test reflexes and patience through relentless trial and error. It makes no attempt to ease players into its systems or soften its difficulty, instead clearly signaling that mastery will only come through repeated failure and careful observation. The core gameplay revolves around guiding the cube through tightly designed levels filled with spinning blades, moving barriers, and other instant-death obstacles. Movement is deliberately unconventional, as the cube is constantly in motion, leaving players with limited control beyond directional input and a crucial stop mechanic that temporarily halts movement. This single design choice fundamentally shapes the experience, forcing players to think ahead and commit to decisions ra…
Score: 6 / 10 ⭐ Neon Hardcore is… well, hardcore. Or at least, that’s what it says in the title. Perfect if you love neon, loud visuals, and stacking achievements like trophies on your profile. Not much else to it, but if you’re into boosting your numbers, it delivers. Grab it on discount unless you just really love flashing cubes.
Glitchy and very mediocre puzzle / platformer type game. My square kept moving and glitching into the walls. Not worth anyones attention Id argue. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)
