About NEURO

NEURO is a narrative first-person shooter in a cyberpunk setting. The action is taking place in the future, in the 4th century of the Space Era, which starts after humans invent a hyperspace engine. You’re James Gravesen, young and enthusiastic agent of the intergalactic government, which controls all habitable planets in the Galaxy.Countless billions of human beings are serving this corporate machine willingly. And you were to become one of them, a nameless drone of the Strategic Bureau of Investigations. But then...By unlucky turn of events, during your first mission you and your partner ran into some serious trouble. You’ve handled things more rough than you should, and now a couple of shadowy, but powerful figures wants to get rid of you.Now you’re fleeing from your former comrades, and at the same time try to expose a horrible conspiracy, which threatens many lives besides your own. The terrible mess you’re in doesn’t allow you even to take a gulp of fresh air, forcing you to endure one survival test after the other. You’re well-armed and trained, but your main weapon will be your brain. Thought can save, and thought can kill. Keep that in mind!

"Tried so hard and got too far but in the end it doesn't even matter..." Played almost 80% of the game through sufferings, and horrible aiming with the dumbest NPCs ever. yet, I did everything I could to proceed, when the game save just crashes while loading. Thanks god there's no sequel

One of the upsides is that the game is not very long and the most unique feature is one of the most useless guns featured ever. It's the first thing you get, this rifle that needs to scan its targets for three seconds before it can fire. You'll get a bunch of others and ragdoll physics are fun. Sadly you'll be fighting heavily armored foes for the last levels and they need to be domed numerous times before they drop. The voice acting is one of the most entertaining aspects of the game. The game functioning can be patchy, but if you get the black screen when reloading the game just wait it out and it should subside, this only happened in the first level though. It also works on proton without extra tweaking. Try the game for morbid curiosity.

NEURO, developed by Revolt Games and published by Strategy First, is a cyberpunk-themed first-person shooter that transports players into a richly detailed futuristic universe. Set in the 4th century of the Space Era, the game places you in the role of James Gravesen, a psionic agent embroiled in political conspiracies on the planet Sorgo. Rather than focusing solely on fast-paced action, NEURO weaves a narrative dense with intrigue, power struggles, and ethical dilemmas, inviting players to experience not just combat but the complexity of a dystopian world grappling with corruption and upheaval. Gameplay in NEURO blends traditional FPS elements with a unique layer of psychic powers, allowing players to use abilities such as telekinesis, mind control, and enhanced perception. This combination enriches combat encounters and puzzle-solving alike, encouraging creative strategies beyond simply shooting enemies. Players traverse nine diverse environments, ranging from sprawling urban megalopolises bathed in neon lights to dense jungles and high-tech research facilities. Each location is crafted to evoke a distinct atmosphere that reinforces the game’s cyberpunk aesthetic, immersing pla…

Wow! I mean, wow! it is a Slavjank! I love me some Slavjank... But! As long as it works. And this game does not work. The last(?) level has some severe collision issues (characters falling through the floor), and halfway through audio issues appear that corrupt save files. I could not complete the story, which is a total mess too. Claiming this is better than Chaser, Exodus from the Earth or especially Alpha Prime is a special kind of mental sickness.

Ambitious narrative, limited by the scope of the game engine and the English voice-acting/dialogue. Russian voice-acting (eng subs are provided but do not scale) is acted and written better; there is actual flow and immersion. There is an interesting game in here, but approach with caution.
