E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy

i like weird games. i like strange games. i like obscure games. i like games that are unusual and quirky. and i like source games. everything in this game is weird. everything feels off. everything is odd to some degree. the systems, the world, the writing—everything is mysterious and cryptic. instead of treating you like you're a preschooler or kindergartner like a lot of games nowadays do, E.Y.E expects you to f*** around and find out. because if you don't, you simply won't find out anything at all. this game follows the design philosophy of another much more well-known and iconic immersive sim very closely, except with a sort of "he's confused but he's got the spirit" ahhhhhh type junk going on. if you don't know what that other game is, it's the one released in 2000 where you work for a global international anti-terrorist agency, walk into the women's bathroom while it's still occupied, and get reported for it merely minutes later. in E.Y.E, you struggle with things. you try things out. you see how it goes. you learn a thing or two. you find something that works for you, while discovering a couple other things that just aren't for you—but are probably perfectly viable for …

freak game for freaks. 100/10

I only do two shooters: Ravenfield and this. Yes, I have dabbled in Battlefield and gave COD the sniff test, but this game, even though it is confusing, has a lot of depth to keep me going. It's open world, but depending on your tolerance, that can be a good or a bad thing. Doesn't really hold your hand, but super rewarding when you figure a few things out. Also, as others have said, the gankiness is part of the charm, get over yourself. A lot of games are like "YOUR CHOICES MATTER" but in this game, they are few but legitimately impactful ones. This is a game where the story is deep and the world is immersive. YES IT'S VERY WARHAMMER STFU. If you're a shooter nut, this is worth a sniff test too. Very interesting game despite its flaws. The ambitious scale is impressive enough to more than make up for the game's shortcomings. This is a very fun game if you have a high tolerance for jankiness.

This is the autistic cousin of Deus Ex and WH 40k (i guess). It's awesome, impossible to describe.

Though it took a few years for this to click, it eventually did. Difficulties getting through for years, until several playthroughs in a few days.
