The "Mentor" tries at all costs to unite the two rival factions. In doing so, you are thrust into the middle of a fratricidal war frought with political conspiracies and quests for power in which different groups and megacorporations are implicated.
These troubles set the stage for an attack by an unknown force bent on destroying humankind.

The cyberhacking feature does not work correctly when you start the game. One stage requires this feature, so I cannot continue the game. The user interface is difficult to understand. The controls are also too complex. The sound and visual effects are unstable and inconsistent. The cyberjump sound is very loud and hurts my ears. The game has a good concept and detailed worldbuilding. However, the technical problems and poor design make the game difficult to play. The execution is very poor.5 found this helpful
The game is extremely odd. Everything is cryptic, the systems hard to understand and controls unintuitive at best but I still like it. It's a puzzle in all the right ways, but the friction it brings will make many drop it before getting anything out of it. Before quitting, please read the tutorials. This is a tough one. If you are an older player who misses the days of when developers took chances with worldbuilding *and* even remotely enjoyed the original Deus Ex, you'll get some enjoyment out of this title. In game, research the medkit and buy the cloak ASAP. Past that, see if you can figure out what the hell is going on; that's half the fun here.
The game is a jank masterpiece and I'm not really sure I can write a traditional review for it so let's just imitate the style of the game and go with disconnected and fragmented bullet points jumping around while not trying to make any waves in the process 1. The sense of mechanical progression is quite good and far better than games even today trying to do a similar thing. You go from an emaciated cyberschlub who can barely hit a space helicopter with a pistol round or walk down a street without needing to catch a breath o a lore-accurate 40k space marine spraying bullets from a minigun and each one slamming into some guy's head while you're jumping off of a cliff. 2. The story is "pregnant with mystery" but at it's core not all that complex or hard to parse contrary to the cultic fanbase wank about it. The esotericism in the game is mostly through poorly relayed visual themes; some of this is due to graphical limitations, some of it through muddled intentions in the writers/developers room. No, I won't explain "what it really means", in as much as such a thing can be done with art, but I can tell you to waste your time reading Girard. 3. The gun selection, though obviously limi…
there's a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to take in even from the start of the game, everything seems like nonsense, getting hacked by a door, getting a lot of Brozoufs and everyday in Paris looks like ass, but this game, rather than understanding this ♥♥♥♥, you have to become one with it, then you'll tap into something like no other, truly something special
