*Recently COMPLETELY Remade from scratch.... FREE UPDATE* !!Nuumonsters is a game set in the future about curious little creatures that strive to be the strongest^^ Power on your AR Gear and play the role of Yasaka or Yana to become the highest ranking battler in the region!
Explore the quant and adorable "Hana" region, consisting of flavorful routes and towns. Defeat Elite Trainers to unlock new areas and continue on your journey. With 70+ monsters and countless moves, players have a lot of teambuilding options to indulge in as they level up their favorite monsters to take on enemy trainers with.
Nuumonsters is a short and sweet monster tamer, with it's art and charm being the main selling points. This game originally released 5 years ago and served as the solo developer "Yano"'s very first game. This game was recently completely remade from scratch, though it's original simplicity was maintained mostly similar to the original. That said, the remake has produced a fully functional RPG with 70+ Monsters, though admittedly lacking in story. If you are looking for a full JRPG experience with an in-depth or engaging story, please purchase at your own risk.

0 Explanation on this game? What is the classic version and what is the difference between the classic and the "remake"? How do I know if a move is physical or special? What is AP and EP? Burst mode what? Im so confused pls. Achievements only work on the classic version that is a worse version of the normal one (final version) even after 5 years the dev didn't fix it... I tried the classic version and there isn't even an option to open my party, check my monsters and their stats it just appears as "????" on the menu (edit: after 40 min you can open your party wow) and for no reason the game crashed two times in 30 minutes so yeah what a broken mess this game is.
TLDR
This game, even the ‘remade’ version, is filled with bugs that heavily detract from the gameplay experience. I must recommend people skip this game due to their existence.
Review
Nuumonsters had the potential to be a short but cute game but unfortunately it fails in many regards. The lack of story hampers much of it; there is little rhyme or reason for progressing areas beyond needing to reach the correct threshold to battle higher ranked 'elite trainers'. This would be fine, except there is no direction regarding where to go next. There is a map in the game but its readability leaves much to be desired in addition to the times it simply does not work... There are some areas where the map is undefined, some where the route is misaligned with the map and the character appears to float off the screen, and others where the transition between areas leaves a character stuck on a previous route. Navigating in this world feels very much a chore, as the map doesn't have names for areas and so even if a sign points to where the next train you need to fight may be, if you haven't stumbled across that area before you are left completely in the dark guess…1 found this helpful
This game is a true love letter to the old (first gen) Pokemon games. You can clearly see the inspiration but it differs enough to stand out. I did like the game a lot and just finished the new "remake" version! Most reviews here are sadly from the first launch when the game was still in early access. I did buy it at release but did not find the time to start it back then (and also forgot about it). The game is complete by now and at the current sate it's more than worth playing! The pacing was fine, just the last 3rd did require some grinding to get enough "ELO". The game took me like 7 1/2 hours to complete and I can see myself replaying this in a year again. Might even try the "classic" version then - just to experience the first version for once.1 found this helpful
Didn't like the game.
I got stuck in Snoberri because Momoka wasn't in her house nor in the route 07, the boshii keeps saying "waka waka". I'm at 1400 Elo and beat every trainers at least once. I won't play this game anymore.
It's very cute and clearly a lot of effort was put into it as an homage to 1st/2nd gen pokemon, but it feels clunky to play, is lacking overall polish, and is buggy. I immediately ran into a bug with the first 'quest' where an NPC didn't recognize that I have the right items (even though I had them), and it randomly resolved itself after entering and leaving the area (via a house). Another really annoying bug: The dialog box won't close if a direction is being held down. Stuff like this makes it kinda unplayable for me personally.
