✦ AI summary
Players are divided on this indie game, with some finding it enjoyable once item unlocks add depth, while others criticize it as an unambitious Ski Free clone with janky controls, a poor tutorial, and underwhelming mechanics that feel unfinished. The core complaint centers on sluggish movement and lack of polish, though a few appreciate it as simple fun despite its limitations.

Exactly as advertised. Infinite mountain, infinite skiing, infinite messing up your trick and getting a face full of tree. Extremely simple controls, and no real goal other than a high score. There are unlockables, but either I'm bugged, or more were planned but not implemented. Was supposed to get the next unlock at 20k points, but I'm well past that and haven't gotten anything else. I unlocked the doggo tho, so that's the important thing! :D The game has a very peaceful soundtrack, and minimal-but-pretty environments. The physics can be funky sometimes, and the trick scores are surprisingly easy to mess up, but neither of those nitpicks matter. If you're a skiing enthusiast, this is probably too simple for you. But if you'd like to just chill out and shoosh down a mountain for a while, this is perfect.
"Off Trail" is a lame third person view ripoff of Skifree... basically an endless runner where you steer left or right to avoid trees and rocks, and that's all there is to this. Incredibly unambitious and possible made up of "borrowed" assets from someone else, there's nothing here for serious gamers. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. The developer chose not to …
