About Old School Musical
Old School Musical is a rhythm game where you swing swords and pilot spacecraft to the beat of 60 chiptune tracks across 20 wacky story levels fighting 32 different chicken types. It's a love letter to retro gaming that blends rhythm-game mechanics with nostalgic arcade action across multiple musical styles from legendary chiptune composers.

What has 60 amazing chiptune tracks, a loony story mode, 32 different chicken types to fight, and takes you on a tour of all your favorite retro games? It's Old School Musical of course!
Tib and Rob are the heroes of a wacky adventure that will teach them where all of the bugs in our favorite games come from.

Not someone who tends to go for rhythm games too often but I got it gifted by a friend of mine since it was dirt-cheap on a sale and I must say I had a blast with the main story, the references and general humor of the game is pretty dumb, but it's the good kind of dumb and the rhythm mechanics are rather simple but still very entertaining. Not something I'll play a massive amount of since I am no perfectionist with games like these but I might come back to it from time to time to check some of the side content and play the game in hard mode, since I feel it's a good time-killer.
Music's great, art style and the vibe is funny and quirky. I love all the references to other video games, but the calibration is genuinely extremely ass. I dunno if it's a bug or what, but there's parts where it just constantly registers as a miss even if you've clearly hit it at the right time. Sometimes it's a Perfect, but most of the time, it's a Miss. You just have to pray that the game likes you a little more the next time you boot it up. The naked dancing guy in the game over screen is kinda funny though. Even if this game's calibration is garbage, I'm not particularly mad at failing 'cause of how stupidly funny the game over screen is lmao.
A simple and musical journey about two brothers who travel across different game worlds and become heroes in the process. Also you murder chickens for some reason and that matters. The story is corny but not bad and the chiptune music used for the songs is decent. It has its own style as a rhythm game but it makes good on that style.
absolute cinema. the references to multiple games, the soundtrack, the story and the gameplay was all very enjoyable and i had a blast. otw to finish chicken republic and 100% the game now
Great
Nice, cute game for those who enjoy rhythm games and chiptunes. The Game comes with various tributes to other games. So there might be some nostalgia included. You shouldn't have a lot of problems to clear the story on hard mode when you're experienced with rhythm games. You can get this game cheap on a discount. Definitely worth a try.
