About Oni Station
You awake alone inside a moving train, your memories of how you got here blurred and missing. At the train control panel, a fuel counter is slowly going down. The only thing that seems certain is a dreadful feeling that something is chasing you, and you don't want the vehicle's fuel to end.
Oni Station is a horror game with roguelike and arcade elements where you must outrun the monster chasing you while carefully planning which stations to stop and search for train fuel. How far will you go?

Before I explain the game play loop lemme say this game is like an adrenaline rush. It's so time management/spacial awareness that its actually challenging. 1. This is a proper rougelike as every run results in death. 2. The goal is to get as far as possible through infinite "stations" 3. You use these stations to look for gas to keep the train going. 4. You can also find flashlight batteries/gatcha coins. 5. The gatcha coins are used in a machine in the back of the train to spawn random items. 6. The demon that is always chasing you can be out maneuvered if you are sneaky. 7. The game ends if the demon touches you or if the train runs out of gas. This game is great but needs a few additions. 1. The pixel filter is kinda ugly and hope we can turn it on/off in the future. 2. A fov slider would help at wider res. 3. A brightness slider would help item searching. With all that said this is quickly becoming my favorite Rougelike on steam and its worth it full price easily because it has infinite replay ability. - XYX GAMES10 found this helpful
Reeeally fun little game, got some good jumpscares out of me. Simple, effective, replayable, really cool one!5 found this helpful
Addicting little game to throw yourself into when you want a little spookiness. I would appreciate a little more polishing. Maybe another item or feature or something. If there were more loops/entrances possible in the maze of rooms, instead of mostly dead ends, I think that would add some excitement trying to evade the Oni. As far as bugs, I was launched off the train once while it was going to another station. And I was caught once by an oni that spawned on me, without warning. The talisman was confusing to use. I had two and upon meeting the oni he ate both of them...4 found this helpful
I received the game for free, as you can see, I tested it for a while, but I have my own opinion. The game has potential, but also its shortcomings. I understand the principle of rougelike games, but here death comes a bit randomly and at incomprehensible moments at first. It's also a bit too dark - I think a better mood could be achieved by slightly increasing visibility. I treat the game as a development version and an update was released very quickly, but it should be described as an early version or playtest, not a full game. It will also be useful to clearly define the style of the game, because currently the versions without a pixel filter differ significantly and this may be an obstacle for players who value a specific style. Personally, I'm a fan of simple games, indie games, maybe not exactly this type of horror games, but I think that at this price the game can be safely risked, support the creators and the development of the game - which is what I count on! In addition, many fans of the genre will have fun already at this stage.3 found this helpful

Really cool idea. Already really fun, i hope it gets updates, with a little more content this could be one of the greats.2 found this helpful
