Painting VR

The steam vr version feels abandoned. I had no issues before, but since the most recent update I haven't bee able to play at all on my HTC Vive. It's disappointing to see a game I enjoyed become completely unusable.

Had I been reviewing this when I first got it, I’d have given it a glowing review, as it filled a need because I couldn’t use Vermillion on my PC (had the Meta version). The devs here made sure things worked with Virtual Desktop, were responsive, and all that. But then development shifted to focus 95% on the Quest platform. As of now, Quest has a different UI for many things, has more studio environments available, has more brush sets available as DLC, has two different types of default paint physics, has a new gadget tool that Steam doesn’t have, has a nice pencil option, stencils, etc. The Steam version has one brush set DLC and none of that other stuff. It’s still a good app, but is currently seemingly abandoned in favor of Quest. So I wouldn’t recommend buying this on Steam, but would recommend buying it on Quest.

i like it. the brush physics are weird and it takes the bite out of trying to make something "good", so i can just [i]make[/i]. sometimes it does feel like the game is fighting me, there are little irritations like how the movement keeps going in whatever direction you were going if you decide to turn with your stick. but all in all i like to make stuff with this program. i like experimenting with the brushes. i just made something using the ice brush for plant fronds. i'm not here looking for a True To Real Life painting experience, i just want a program to play with that feels good. and painting vr feels good. [strike]mostly just wish it ddidn't boot me into my quest instead of using steam vr native, literal only other major annoyance. i want tto be able to use xsoverlay without having to swap between playspaces.[/strike] that one was my bad, it uses your default openxr program.

Garbage game. I wish I could remove all my save data somehow but I can't. I have stick drift on my controller. Why is walking around even an option. That's so stupid.
