Panzer Kliker is one of those tiny games where the entire idea is basically explained by the title, and honestly I found that pretty amusing. I click on a tank, earn resources and use them to turn that tank into a much stronger machine. It is incredibly simple, but the retro pixel art and silly presentation give the whole thing enough personality to make the basic loop more enjoyable than I expected. The main gameplay revolves around clicking the tank to generate points, then spending those points on upgrades. I can improve the tracks, gun and armor while also recruiting crew members to increase how effective each click becomes. I liked seeing the tank gradually become more complete because every upgrade feels like a visible step toward building a ridiculous little war machine. The idle progression is probably my favorite part. The game is designed so that my tank can continue making progress even when I am away, which gives me a reason to come back and check what has happened.
