This is one of those moments where you wish there was a neutral option. This game is a good roguelike that is similar to Slots & Daggers, yet unique in its own way. I just finished 100%ing it, and it was quite fun. So what's wrong? Well, the game is unpolished, buggy, and very, very unbalanced. Some achievements reward before they should be. Some descriptions have typing errors. Sometimes. the game crashes from you going to the main menu. Some common relics are better than some mythical ones (there is also a rare that does the same as two mythical relics combined for some reason??), and there is one weapon that is so good, and is a STARTER weapon, that I've never even tried over half of the weapons in the game. So if you don't mind the occasional bugs, the lackluster tutorial, barebones story, and an almost complete lack of QoL features, this game is fun for its price tag (especially since I bought it for 80% off). I did, all in all, have a good time. But I don't think everyone would.

It's okay... I guess. For what it costs, I suppose I can recommend. The art is decent, and the core gameplay loop is fun, but the balancing is horrible, with a lot of things feeling like oversights. Why is chain so much more powerful than everything else? Why do the big scary rats from the third level sometimes show up and obliterate you on level 1 or 2? Why are there loads of ways to get armour but no payoff for it? Why is poison / burn so useless against enemies and yet so strong against the player? Fleeing feels useless, until you realise that fleeing a boss counts as a victory, even against the final boss - even the secret mega-final boss, meaning that being able to reroll fleeing is an insane trump card that can win you the entire game provided you have enough gold to essentially bribe your way through every challenging fight. Just some weird design choices. 6/10.

I don't really know anything about playing slots, but this game wicked fun.

I think the game has a lot of potential within the genre. I just think it need a bit more work - some balancing, and remove the stupid weapon durability.

You mean to tell me after all the trash and gimmicky battle roguelikes that use a slot machine that I've played, the only one that actually incorporates the slots into the mechanics in a smart and creative way is only $1 on sale on Steam?? I can't believe I didn't hear about this before. I legitimately found it rummaging through the steam Summer Sale looking at cheap deckbuilding roguelikes. Hidden gem. This isn't going to change your life or anything, but it's an excellent bite sized package and unique spin (pun intended) on the genre. And like I've said, it's the only one that I've come across that built it's gameplay around the slot machine idea rather than stuffed it in as an afterthought.
