Dev announced in his discord that he's abandoning the game. Didn't even bother to say it here to the people who paid money for it.

I bought and played this game early, and even went so far as to report any bugs I found in the dev's discord. On March 3rd, they sent this message in announcements "Hey folks! As some of you know, I've been solo-developing Periapsis for almost 3 years now. I'm stepping back to explore some new but related ideas and recharge creatively. I've been working on a small side-project that I think you'll find interesting. I'll share more soon. I'm really grateful for all the support this community has shown!" Since then, the developer has both left this game without new content and refused to maintain or fix any bugs that are reported, nor have they spoken to anyone in the discord, or anywhere else. There are up to four weapon groups in this game you can sort your weapons into, but its too bad you can't play any of the larger ships because larger ships have too many hardpoints which causes it to loop out of your screen, rendering you unable to set weapons that extend out of the screen to any weapon group. This game is not what is advertised, it has multiple game breaking bugs, and a janky freeplay mode at best, with a barebones campaign that only just throws more enemies at you, which …

The creator did not disclose that the development is on pause. Looks like this is abandonware. Very disappointing as the game had a lot of potential. Don't bother buying it unless the developer returns to it at some point in the future.

I really like this game and want to recommend it, but I have to echo the sentiments of other reviewers calling it abandonware- it's fun, but you can tell it's pretty unfinished. If the dev returns, I'll change my review to a big thumbs-up.

Cool concept, but this game needs some rework with the controls. At first I thought it was quirky with the interface, but now I just am annoyed with the interface to a degree that I just don't want to play it. I know it's early access so I still recommend it, but I don't care for the frustration of the interface and the difficulty in managing coolant while being shot at.
