About Periphery Online
The refugee capsule lands on a uninhabited planet. You have to survive, rebuild civilization and, if possible, regain control over the Earth.
Classic RTS in sci-fi setting:
- manage your units
- build bases
- explore the planet, look for and mine various resources, hunt wild animals
- fight and interact with other players
- develop economy and diplomacy
At the beginning of the game, you, along with other beginners, will be thrown onto one of the uninhabited planets. After reaching a certain economic development and surviving in competition with other players, you will have the opportunity to build your own space fleet and start exploring space and colonizing other planets. The goal of the game is to regain and maintain control over the Earth. The one who owns the Earth is considered the leader of the rating. If the Earth has no owner, the leader is the one whose planet is closest to the Earth.
Unlike just RTS, in which the PvP session is designed for a small and finite number of players and the map is available only to the participants of the session, and the session itself lasts only an hour or two. Periphery Online is MMORTS, it is one huge and open universe for all players, one endless PvP session. Wars here can last several months of real time. When you exit the game, the gameplay does not stop, your colonies continue to live and evolve in real time on the server. For example, you can log into the game in the morning, give orders, then log in in the evening, by which time everything will have been built, resources have been collected, the fence has been repaired, etc.
The closer a planet is to Earth, the higher the competition. In addition, some of the resources are not renewable. Therefore, in order to supply the central regions and, as a result, for a successful game, it is also recommended to colonize planets and build colonies somewhere on the periphery. In case you don't really like the constant PvP battles or you like exploration, the universe is quite large and there are places to hide and develop quietly. You can fly away from the center and explore space and quietly build your galactic empire there.
If at first minutes it seems too hardcore, don't be alarmed, the maps in the game are quite large, and there is a built-in wiki. As you progress, you will have enough time before encountering other players to get comfortable with the controls, learn the rules, and build your starting base and defenses.

Great game, well executed concept, really underrated combination of elements that you don't see too often as a slow-burn MMORTS. My retro gaming heart is truly full of glee. >> PROS: - THE LAW SYSTEM: It's a really well thought-out set of rules that effectively discourages randomly attacking your neighbor. In summary, you have 6 statuses that apply to all players that change depending on their actions. If there is no Governor, all players start as Settlers. The first person to achieve 14,400 influence becomes Governor. Once a Governor appears, everyone else becomes a Refugee. Refugees have 5 days before they become Illegal. Refugees may prolong their status by donating units to the Governor’s monastery if they have built one. Each Illegal player on a planet reduces mining productivity by 10%. The Governor can legally declare war on and attack an Illegal player. If anyone attacks anyone else for any other reason, they become an Invader. Each invader on a planet reduces the overall mining productivity on that planet by 5% and thus becomes a target for everyone else. If the governor attacks someone illegally, they become a Tyrant. Tyrants gain 20% mining productivity, but also decrea…1 found this helpful
I can't stop playing, Even started an english player discord server community to get us all together. Alot of the complaints i see about this game are directly tied to a lack of game knowledge imo, There's ways to avoid alot of the cruel endings i see players experiencing, if You're one of those players, Look for community for the game, You will find people willing to give you advice, In my server full of new players, Few of them already have a 2nd planet or more. Build fires to keep animals away while you gather, etc. I promise you the long period of time thing does benefit you in the end, Especially if youre smart enough to get production going while youre offline, you come back to a swath of resources and plenty of ways to invest them to make sure you stay alive. I'm sure there's alot of constructive feedback to be given to the dev to make this game better, But it truly scratches that itch for me and many other players ive talked to that are new to this game. Its that nostalgic RTS combined with allowing real life to still exist and not take away the fun for you. ( Dont wanna be offlined? Build good defenses. Dont think you have enough time because theres a dude with 30k in…
Okay so I'm about 30 hours into this and I'm hooked. Periphery Online is a persistent universe MMORTS. You land on some empty planet in a refugee capsule, build up a colony, and slowly fight your way toward retaking Earth in one big never ending PvP session that everybody shares. The part that got me is that your colony keeps going while you're offline. I'll log in in the morning, give orders, come back at night and the base has built itself out, resources are stacked up, walls repaired. Wars in this game play out over weeks, not some 90 minute match. Right now I just got my 4th telescope up and next time I log on I'm finally building a spaceport, hoping to get out there and colonize another planet soon. Theres only one other person on the planet Im on at the moment, and the dude went and attacked me so... yeah, its on now lol. My one real complaint is that it needs more players. Counts are low right now so it can feel kinda empty sometimes, and an endless PvP game really does live or die on population. But thats also exactly why I'd say give it a shot. Its a bold ambitious little game that just needs people, and 5 bucks to support one dev building something this big is a no brai…
Very good old-school game, reminds me of the old games i played in the 90's and 00's, addictive, challenging and an extremely interesting concept
started as a second monitor game but it's actually pretty engaging worth a shot for 4x/strategy/economy gamers appreciate the dev trying a different take on the genre
this is a slowish paced game but dont let that fool you. I have very much enjoyed playing this game from spawning in on a planet making noob mistakes getting wiped off a planet with 50 scouts/soldiers, proceeding to spawn in a new planet with other players declaring wars and taking out the top dog controlling the majority of the planet and now plotting revenge on the person who saw a noob on his planet a threat with 3 spaceports with decsented ships about to basicly invade a neighbouring planet. i do have one issue which only slightly dints my experience which is infrequent crashing and ping issue (i think the server is in russia) because i have 307 ping. here is my first 2 days experience So my first time spawning in I did the noob thing and asked how to build and the person that had a monopoly on the world came and slaughtered all my workers and colony. So I restarted and had a more calm first day on a new planet with 4 other people. But at the start of day 2 I noticed the top dogs base expansion was spreading to my main continent, and I was gonna take that ♥♥♥♥ so I declared war on him and destroyed his in construction military outpost. I had 4 explorer ships sailing the oc…
