PICKLE IS ALL YOU NEED.

Pickle is about as simple as a game can get. I click a pickle and get rewards, then use those rewards to keep going and build up my collection. That is basically the entire idea, and I actually think the game is quite honest about what it is. There is no big story or complicated system hiding underneath it. It is a free clicker game that takes a silly idea and runs with it. The main thing I like is how easy it is to understand. I can start clicking straight away and do not need to learn a long list of mechanics. There are Steam achievements and the game has a small collection focused idea, so I have at least a couple of reasons to keep checking what I have unlocked. I also like that the developer has allowed pickle designs to be submitted through the community, which gives the otherwise very basic concept a little more personality. At the same time, I cannot pretend there is much depth here. The main activity is clicking the pickle and collecting rewards, so after the joke has worn off there is not a huge amount left for me to discover. There are no major combat systems, story choices or complicated progression trees to keep things changing. It works as something I can leave open…
