infinite loop of getting stuck and losing progress, frustrating as ♥♥♥♥ gameplay loop, the actual metroidvania exploration is often not rewarded, but punished instead, - as you can't get out of some situations, left with no choice but to self-destruct just to be able to keep playing. How am I supposed to be having fun and looking forward to unlocking more upgrades and quality of life features, if my inventory gets nuked on cooldown?.. Honestly ew

It's just as youthful as I remember from the 3DS version. It's vibrant and fun for spelunkers. If I were to say a game that aged well over the years, it would be Steamworld Dig. The layouts and level design is intricate and dangerous enough to allow players to stay cautious and agile with movement constantly in the three parts of the underground. It's short if you know what you're doing. But, it's a nice game with a challenge and a neat story to tell.

I highly recommend this game for kids. It reminds me of flash games from 15 years ago. It took me about 8 hours to finish, but I was pretty thorough looking for ore and died a bunch of times. It doesn't have a lot of grit, but its fun. I enjoyed the finale, I thought that was a fun ending.
