I Don't Like The Art Style, None Of The Girls Look Cute.2 found this helpful
Pocket Bravery is a fighting game developed by Statera Studio and published by PQube and Statera Studio. Built as a tribute to the competitive fighters that dominated arcades during the 1990s, it combines retro-inspired visuals with modern gameplay systems to create an experience that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. While many independent fighting games struggle to stand out in a crowded genre, Pocket Bravery succeeds by focusing on strong fundamentals, distinctive mechanics, and a presentation that clearly reflects the developers’ passion for classic competitive games. The first thing players are likely to notice is the game's attractive pixel-art style. Rather than chasing photorealism or high-end visual effects, Pocket Bravery embraces a colorful retro aesthetic reminiscent of portable fighting games and arcade classics. Character animations are fluid, attacks are easy to read, and the stages are filled with details that give each location its own personality. The visual direction feels purposeful rather than limited by budget, helping the game establish a memorable identity from the moment a match begins. The roster offers a variety of fighters with unique designs, per…2 found this helpful
Maybe this style of game isn't for me but I found it extremely shi ttay. I grew up playing MK and Tekken and killer instinct fighting games so I don't have much experience with KOF fighting games. Rather than special moves and intuitive combos this game uses like 20 extra systems of breakers and match specific things to use based on multiple different meters and triggers at only certain times of the matches. Most of the special moves require extensive multiple arrow moves in a row and you're supposed to chain them together. The problem with this is this game has the worst input recognition i've ever had in a fighting game. I would try a move 15 times and it would only recognize the correct input 1 of those times. Forget trying to chain multiple multi-arrow attacks back to back in sequence. I see other complaints about the inputs in the reviews so it's not just me and I've played a decent amount of fighting games over my lifetime and never had this issue. Other problems, the story is some random chibi trash dialogue boxes that take 10 min from fight to fight and you have to slowly skip through. During fights you have to constantly do new techniques in a glorified training/tutori…1 found this helpful
great
This game is awesome. Nobody is online, so no online matches, but in local 1 vs 1 this game is an absolute hit. Semi-easy to get in to, but to master combos it's very difficult. It is fun with controller, even though certain moves are harder/almost impossible, for that a keyboard is needed. Nevertheless great game, Nice character design, whole atmosphere awesome. Can only recommend, beautifully made.
This is good fun. Not too complicated, but that don't mean it's easy. Cool characters and visuals.
