Primal Lands is an attempt to use Construct 2 (please don't laugh) to make what seems to be some kind of ripoff of Dwarf Fortress, only completely garbage. You start the game by sacrificing one of your dudes (???) to get some resources, then you can go ahead and instruct your dudes to start building a city or whatever... well, the concept actually isn't terrible, but wow, the implementation is a train wreck, and the train was the dumpster fire express. So that, you know, the train wreck spilled dumpster fires everywhere. That's where we are. But at least this isn't an asset flip, this is a sincere and genuine attempt to make a game, but without the requisite talent, budget, skillset, or even appropriate engine choice to do so. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Abandoned and unfinished in 1/2018. After 5 minutes of game play I never want to play this soundless game again. The only sounds this game has is music, you turn that of it's pretty quiet. Needs better fonts for text instead of the broken one that's too small to read. No tutorial means you'll have no clue what you're doing. Bored to death in 5 minutes of game play. Avoid at all cost. No wonder it has no player base. I think i got it in a bundle, at least I hope I did.2 found this helpful

Primal Lands appears to be a small-scale survival experience that leans heavily into the familiar foundations of the genre, placing players in a rugged, untamed environment where the primary objective is to endure and gradually establish control over the surroundings. The game frames its experience around the idea of starting with almost nothing and slowly building toward stability, encouraging players to rely on observation, experimentation, and persistence. It does not attempt to guide the player extensively, instead allowing the world and its systems to unfold through direct interaction, which creates a sense of discovery but can also leave players feeling directionless in the early stages. The core gameplay loop centers on gathering resources, crafting essential tools, and managing basic survival needs. Players spend much of their time exploring the environment in search of materials that can be used to create weapons, shelter, and other necessities. This process is deliberately gradual, reinforcing the idea that progress must be earned through effort and patience. Early moments in the game often feel tense, as resources are scarce and the player is vulnerable to both environm…
