I think this is supposed to be a meme game? I don't want to be rude, but I sincerely could not tell. The majority of the stats expressly do nothing (as suggested by the in-game joke GameFAQ walkthrough), and there's nothing to do besides a set of three attacks per monster. Perhaps I had a bad seed, but for the duration of my time I only saw attacks which dealt either 2 or 3 damage, and since I couldn't acquire any monsters with the stronger attacks, I couldn't do anything. The generated monsters and attacks and such are silly and neat but aren't really much more than some basic language parsing stuff. (It's at least not an AI training scam or something, so that's a plus.) I have to assume that this was largely a small project that was kicked out with some simple mechanics, something that would be perfect as a free or cheap Itch game or some such, but I definitely can't recommend buying it here.16 found this helpful
You would probably have better luck with making yourself dizzy and reading a book than trying to understand the game. An interesting experience. I don't think it's worth 9,99 though. Not horrible but not great either. Would definitely continue to play but I don't know if I could recommend this.4 found this helpful
I bought this on a whim and ended up refunding it. It is exactly what it advertises itself to be, for better or worse. For me, it was an incomprehensible mess that was devoid of any real entertainment value. If you're after a randomly generated monster collecting experience, PokeRogue and Rogue Emerald are much more enjoyable, and don't cost any money. This game...I would only recommend if you have ever entered "Glitch City" in the original Pokemon games and thought it would be great to have an entire game that consisted of that experience. Otherwise, just move on.1 found this helpful
To start, look at my playtime in this game. I haven't played it much, so take that into account when reading my review. Overall, I like the premise of this game. A monster taming game built out of randomly generated nonsense is a really cool premise and the game systems seem to be in place for this. However, I found it really difficult to want to play the game. Due to everything being randomly generated, I constantly needed to check what stuff did. However, that information isn't accessible when it's needed most: during battles. Overall, I could kind of comprehend the game until I got into a battle, where it was difficult to tell what was going on or what anything did. The game definitely could use polish and quality of life features so that it's easier to tell what is happening during a battle. Surprisingly, the randomly generated nonsense isn't what's hard to comprehend, it's just the bare bones battle system which doesn't have good feedback or available help text/explanations.
Fever dream mon!
Procemon is an interesting game, if I had to describe it I would say its a procedural creature collecting dungeon crawler with a mysterious undertone that intrigues players to continue playing with the story. I wont lie as this game obviously not for everyone, its "tutorial" is stylised like a forum post (which I prefer though as you have to play the game yourself to learn) and the game may seem unfair at first since your chances of succeeding in the earlier worlds is entirely based on luck but the entire game carries a certain type of uncanny charm and an intriguing game play loop were nothing is the same and you have no idea what to expect in any battle which stops it from getting repetitive from the get go. The art style takes from gameboy colour pokemon games with Procemon all being various incarnations of Missingo but recognisable as what their custom types are despite the beautiful mess of shapes they are made of. The music is catchy and fits the nature of the game perfectly in my eyes and to top it all off the fact that everything is segmented from Wikipedia makes for some hilarious descriptions, names and moves and allows for a ton of exploration considering that no Proce…
