Quantum Odyssey

Before I get to the game, major props to the dev who is present and engaged with the community. I don't think I've seen a thread on the Discussions page where they have not contributed in some way or another. Super rare to find someone who is obviously skilled [b]and[/b] patient when dealing with people. I assume this is a one-person project, and for that, they have my absolute respect. The game itself is something I should have bought a long time ago. I got it during the Cyberpunk Fest and absolutely devoured it from day one. The graphics are great: super sleek, not overwhelming, and modern (I often wonder if quantum physics should have a steampunk look to it, given that it was born in the 1920s [or in 1900, whichever you like]). The way the map unfolds after having solved a level is super satisfying, which is a healing balm after some of the puzzles really kicked the wind out of you, but in the nicest, most exciting way possible. (Oh, I should mention I have a little background in the subject. More on that later.) Really cool game for trying to understand quantum computing

This game a visual masterpiece. It is very colorful and dynamic visually. The game is trying to teach quantum computing, but teaching in a visual way and partially hiding the mathematics underneath (although it does not get covered and introduced throughout the game). As someone with quantum computing background, I think the idea of the game is great, and it has given me some surprising moments by seeing how the visuals change as you apply gates and create combinations and various circuits. While I am sure this game has much more potential, I have so far found the game to be very enjoyable, challenging, and interesting to play. I admire the work that has been put into the game and believe there is much to improve and continue working on. Personally, I think the game can succeed in its mission. 👍 Recommended I received a key for Quantum Odyssey through Keymailer and decided to check it out during Steam Programming Fest. This is definitely one of those games where you can tell there’s a lot more going on under the surface than you might expect at first. If you enjoy programming, logic, problem-solving, and figuring things out through experimentation, there’s a lot here to dig into. I especially liked that it doesn’t feel like you’re just following instructions and clicking through a programming tutorial. You actually have to think about what you’re doing, experiment, and work through the problems yourself. That can also mean there’s a learning curve, especially if programming isn’t something you’re already familiar with. Overall, I think Quantum Odyssey is a really interesting concept and worth checking out if programming/puzzle games are your thing. I didn’t play it on Steam Deck, where it is Steam Deck Verified, but it’s a nice bonus since I’m usually on my steam deck when I’m relaxing.
