Raid! (2020)

"Raid!" is an interesting enough concept, a hybrid TD and base builder, but it seems to fall short of the promising concept, with weak (possibly asset flipped) visuals and ultimately tedious gameplay. If you want more depth in a TD, Mindustry is a better way to go (and likewise if you don't care about visuals, but let's face it, most gamers deep down do). Otherwise Kingdom Rush is a better choice for pure TD gameplay that, again despite poor visuals, is extremely well designed. Or if you do care about visuals, Sanctum/Orcs Must Die. Anyway. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. pretty boring played for a half an hour and got bored but if you want to relax and if you don't like games like cs-go or Valorant or games that are more active then you could like it but i don't like it. also when i clicked on a tower and repaired it it would not let me click on any other tower. but nice job cowboy.

Good game. Nice interface and UI. Few easy to fix glitches holding back this game from full potential. Hope to see this game grow!

Игра 'Raid!' - это приятный, хоть и простой, тайм-киллер. Затягивает своей незамысловатостью и постоянным прогрессом. Визуальный стиль выполнен в яркой, мультяшной манере, что добавляет позитива. Геймплей крайне прямолинеен: собираешь команду, грабишь караваны и повышаешь характеристики. Ничего выдающегося, но работает как надо. По началу, игра может показаться слишком легкой, но постепенно сложность возрастает, вынуждая задуматься о стратегии развития своей команды. Конечно, микротранзакции здесь присутствуют и ощутимо ускоряют прогресс, но без них вполне можно обойтись, просто потребуется больше времени. Из минусов можно отметить некоторую однообразность игрового процесса и отсутствие каких-либо глубоких механик. Однако, если вы ищете что-то ненавязчивое, чтобы скоротать время, 'Raid!' вполне может подойти. Это не шедевр, но определенно способна увлечь на несколько часов. В целом, крепкий середнячок в своем жанре.
