Additional vehicles can be unlocked with diamonds. Diamonds are awarded for leveling up in the game. This means that new game missions with better conditions are always possible, which are unlocked bit by bit! Including endless missions and procedurally generated maps!

I've found the game to be a relaxing option for a lazy afternoon. The maps vary (though the ability to import/design one's own maps would certainly be nice), and the game has a feel not unlike the older iterations of e.g. Railroad Tycoon. Having said that, I'm not really a fan of the "diamonds" model of only being able to slowly build up rolling stock as you play the game more and more. That's leading to a lot of "grinding" through quick runs on the "East Coast" map (basically the New York metro area) to produce diamonds so I can get more trains for other maps. All in all I'd give it a B-, and a shift in the game's model and a clear process for editing maps would bump it up to a solid B+. For like $5, it isn't a bad deal. Editing to add: I wish the game had a few more options for the various scenarios. Right now, it's "fastest to 1000 pax" or "fastest to 300 units of cargo". It would be nice if there were some slightly longer scenarios. Also, with the diamonds - grinding the short scenarios makes a lot more sense than bothering with the long ones.1 found this helpful
