There are bad games with a lot of heart put into by developers who lacked either the experience or funds to create a genuinely enjoyable experience for the player. There also are bad games with an idea that introduces a new mechanic or a curious narrative device which still is not enough to make playing fun enough. Then there’s the Rat Cage. It has one gimmick – the protagonist is a rat. That’s it. Outside of that, it is a low-quality copy of Little Nightmares. [h3]No Flowers for Algernon[/h3] Both the protagonist’s physics and interactions feel basic and raw. For example, the rat can climb some of the vertical objects like pipes, but there is no animation for the transition, the model just snaps to the new surface and there is no climbing animation either, the rat just moves upwards using the normal running animation. Great little game, stylish and not too frustrating. For those commenting that the screens are too dark, many places along the way have lighting options if you look for them.

Fun little game. There are only 2 issues I found First its a bit too dark, I dont know about other players but I prefer a "soft" darkness where I can still see things, rather than pitch black. Secondly if you have low frame rate your jump hight will be significantly higher, which can help you solve some puzzles.
