i didnt think that the easy difficulty would be this easy and repetitive. beat the game on my first try. got kinda bored after the same things kept happening. FTL is better.2 found this helpful
Arm yourself with cannons, mortars, lightning blasts, boarding grapples (and the occasional grenade-carrying parrot) to deal with your tyrannical pursuers. Hews fairly close to the FTL formula (which isn't a bad thing - it's a very good FTL-like!), with a cool map exploration mechanic that gives you more freedom to chart your own path through each sector. Another neat twist is managing the range between ships - shooting out the enemy's helm (or simply sailing faster!) lets you dictate the range of the engagement, allowing you to position your ship to beneift your own combat build while hopefully making things harder for the hostile ship's weapons. A good variety of encounters (and many of those encounters can go sideways in surprising ways!), lots of weird ways to customise your ship, with rooms, crew, augments, weapons, magic, figureheads and more. There's a lot to like here, so whether if you're looking for something to scratch the FTL itch, or just seeking for a chill way to spend any afternoon slinging cannonballs, it's a great choice.2 found this helpful
Absolutely addicting and wonderful game, but a challenge you'll have to learn. Easy isn't bad. Normal and Hard will be rough.1 found this helpful
while its fun, it lacks the ability to grow within the game. After couple of matches it gets boring and repetative fighting style. Good luck wining on Mid or High level type game as its extremely difficult to stock up on resources as you go. The game engine lacks the support to allow players to grow both in skill set and crew.
I love this game. It’s a real hidden gem. The pirate theme works surprisingly well with the roguelike structure, and every run feels fresh without being overwhelming. It’s simple, fun, and has more depth than you’d expect. Definitely worth checking out if you like roguelikes and want something a bit different.
