About Revolution Ace

✦ AI summary

Pilot a customizable fighter through intense aerial combat against machine forces, unlocking advanced weapons and tactical upgrades as you push toward the AI core. Deep loadout options, destructible environments with realistic physics, and co-op or versus multiplayer make every run feel fresh with new strategic possibilities.

Humanity is on the verge of extinction. It’s up to you to infiltrate the AI core and win the war against the machines.

Start your journey with a simple ship, outfitted with only basic machine guns and air-to-ground missiles. As you take down more and more of the enemy's fighters you’ll unlock new technologies like plasma shields, wave beams, and ion cannons.

It’s totally up to you how you outfit your rig; with a durable player ship and hundreds of possible configurations and strategies, Revolution Ace features a deeper, more tactical shoot'em up experience.

Features
  • Powered by the Unreal engine.
  • Real water simulation and rigidbody physics. Ships react realistically when shot down, and buildings respond realistically when bombed.
  • Fight a wide variety of air, land, and sea enemies with a customizable loadout. Level up to unlock more weapon slots and perks that add additional passive bonuses like piercing and shield stealing.
  • Online and local two player co-op.
  • Unique Versus mode. Send enemies and hazards to defeat your opponent.

Decent shoot 'em up. I would wait till it goes on sale but overwise a good game.

The graphics are basic, the music is jarring, the grind is abysmal, the guns are lame and weak as a peashoter. And what's worse, during the first hour of the grind (!!) you need to either choose to diminish your firepower even further to be even able to target enemies on the ground, or you play with your standard peashooters, and cannot do anything but dodge whatever the many enemies on the ground are spouting. After that you upgrade for yet another peashooter of a weapon. And the 'Adventure' tag for this game, or the "deep and tactical combat"... Madre mia! Granted, the bullet-hell is there. The enemies have different patterns, so technically speaking, it should amount to a good game. However, read the above. This is by no means a good game. I don't understand why people are so fake in their reviews. And the whole 'game you have been waiting for' thing playing during the main video showcasing, here at Steam is just plain, intelligence-insulting rubbish. There are plenty of great shoot'em'ups with new, cool games incoming to this genre every few months. Take Jets'n'Guns, Tyrian, Tubular Worlds, R-Type, Galaga, Stargunner, Sine Mora X... this game doesn't hold a centimeter long can…

This is very competent shmup game which is an absolute steal for only $5. It's fairly standard gameplay for a shmup, but has a good deal of customization with multiple weapons slots allowing you to upgrade and customize your weaponry throughout your playthrough. As an additional level to this, there are both air and ground targets, with some weapons hitting one or the other, and a few weapons targeting both. Additionally, there's also a dedicated multiplayer mode where you are competing for points in simultaneous runs, but can influence the other player's field using your super weapons. It's not a super complicated game, but it's fun and long enough for me to get nearly 14 total hours of gameplay as of this review (including 100%'ing the achievements). For $5, it's entirely worth it if you're a fan of shmup games.
