About Revolution Under Siege Gold
THE GAME
From the Baltic to the shores of the Pacific and through the arid steppes of Central Asia, relive on PC the biggest civil war ever!
October 1917. The Bolshevik Revolution starts a tidal wave that will sweep the whole of the XXth century. But the birth of the Communist regime was not an easy walk, and it faced dozens of tough but often unknown oppositions which did their utmost to destroy it in its infancy, in an amazing conflict where a central side is attacked from all corners and directions.
Make the Reds side triumph to save the Soviet Proletarian revolution, or, on the other side, lead the Whites side to victory in order to place the old regime back in power and protect the countries of Europe, weakened by the Great War, from the perils of the revolution.
Revolution Under Siege GOLD is the first complete historical simulation on PC of the Russian Civil War between 1917 and 1923. A wealth of historical events and geopolitical options, real or possible according to the player's choices, will bring a realistic tempo to the maneuver of your forces and those of your opponents.
Revolution Under Siege GOLD has been designed by a French team, with the aid of volunteers from all over the world, all dedicated fans and contributors of the historical strategy games from AGEod.

I really wanted to enjoy this. Big epic scope, an interesting topic that gets very little attention. But just rolling through the tutorial, the map zooming in/out and scrolling was wonky and frustrating. That, plus little/no feedback between what I was doing and the tutorial -- it might well as have been a static PDF -- none of that endeared me to wanting to put the time/effort to climb the learning curve for this game. So much potential, but didn't click with me. :{2 found this helpful
One of the best (if not the best) AGEOD game. Perfectly balanced, with good opportunities for every side. Always play PBEM, as it makes the game that much more fun!1 found this helpful
Really disappointed with my initial experience here. After waiting forever for the game to initially load, looked at the settings and then launched the tutorial. I gave up after about 15min. The performance on this game is shockingly awful. I have a powerful rig that has no issue running some of the most demanding modern games. I've never played a game on this rig with this bad of performance. Initial load probably took 5 min..which is insane. Simply moving through tabs in the ledger, there is a 2-3 second delay...which is wild. The game runs like it was made with DOS in the 90s...actually...come to think of it, I played DOS-based games back in the early 90s that performed better than this game.
Game crashes too often.
Really wanted it to be good. But it is just unplayable. For a great civil war experience try strategic command ww1, the dlc. thank me later
Pretty uninspiring. The game is clunky, UI is awful, the tutorial is lacking. The save system is frustrating to work with. Stuff happens in abstract. There is little strategic thinking beyond stacking as much of powerful troops you can and pushing it into the enemy. How battles work is nebulous. I'm sure someone who truly dedicates himself to this game can come to understand it, for but for majority it will probably remain mostly a mystery. It doesn't really feel like you're doing much in the game, except for moving cards around. I appreciate the attempt to do the Russian civil war, it is rarely done in games, but nonetheless it's not a well executed attempt.
