Ricky Raccoon is a charming casual puzzle adventure developed by Makivision Games and published by familyplay that combines classic match-three gameplay with a lighthearted treasure-hunting story. Set against the lush backdrop of the Amazon rainforest, the game follows a young raccoon determined to embark on an unforgettable expedition alongside his experienced grandfather. While the gameplay is built upon familiar puzzle mechanics, the colorful presentation, adventurous atmosphere, and steady progression system help transform the experience into something more engaging than a typical collection of match-three challenges. The story introduces Ricky, an energetic and curious raccoon who dreams of following in the footsteps of his grandfather, a renowned explorer and treasure hunter. Together they set out on a quest to uncover a legendary Aztec treasure hidden deep within the Amazon. As the journey unfolds, players travel through exotic locations, search for clues, and overcome a variety of obstacles that stand between the adventurers and their ultimate prize. The narrative remains simple and family-friendly, but it succeeds in creating a sense of purpose that motivates players to c…

The match 3 gameplay is fine. There is a variety of modes, with different objectives. Some succeed better than others. By default there is a timer, which makes it very stressful, and nearly impossible. Fortunately, you can turn this off without any penalty. There's really nothing else. The story is paper thin and not that amusing, and the graphics are so so. The price is steep, wait for a sale. For $2 this is a pleasant match 3 game.

If you couldn't tell by all the media attached to this game, Ricky is a raccoon with a heart of gold. I could guess that you'd assume this is your average run-of-the-mill Bejeweled clone. Turns out the thing that Bejeweled was missing, was a lovable raccoon protagonist. You don't think you need it, but you do. Bejeweled is similar to a game like Silent Hill in this regard, you're on your own in this bewildering puzzle world; It get's lonely and frightening, especially when you cannot make that last match in Poker mode. Ricky Raccoon however is more akin to a game like Pokemon, just you on a romp with your friend(s); So what if we lose a battle here or there, we'll just try again! They should give this game to soldiers and warmongers to change their minds about killing and bombing people, guarantee they will throw down their arms, put on some pink PJs, curl up in bed with some hot chocolate and enjoy some Ricky Raccoon on a laptop. If you liked Bejeweled and you are finally willing to admit you have a cold heart because of it, Ricky Raccoon will save you and bring love into your heart.

Fun match 3 game with a good story and humour. Graphics and sound are spot on too. Bit short though, it left me wanting more.

Generally a casual Match-3 game. I am only recommending against this game because the puzzles are repetitive and the price is a little too high for a Match-3 that lacks any depth, mechanic-wise. You'll be slowly introduced to different puzzles over the course of your first treasure hunt. but all your subsequent treasure/gold hunts will simply be the same puzzles just with greater quantity of gold or gems to break. Because of this, the game becomes quite a grind after your first treasure hunt since the cycle and the style of puzzles essentially repeat itself till the end. While the graphics are indeed relatively high quality and there is a story you follow as you solve puzzles, they are not sufficient to justify the price you will be paying for, given you can easily get the same experience minus the story and nice graphics with a cheaper variant.
