About Robin Hood: Winds of Freedom

Help Robin Hood and his merry men rescue King Richard from a cunning kidnapper!

When the king is abducted, it falls on Robin Hood and his friends to find the royal ruler and pay the ransom. As you wind your way through Sherwood Forest and the surrounding country, you'll encounter a gallery of rogues who want only to stop you. To succeed, you'll need to set clever traps, help struggling villagers and produce the resources you need to continue the quest!

In an exciting twist, you'll begin each level by choosing up to three characters to use. You'll need to pick carefully, as each member of the merry band has a unique ability. Do you need to beat the clock? Then choose Robin Hood, who makes everyone run faster. Are resources tight? Then pick Friar Tuck, who increases the rate of production!

Other unique challenges abound in this vibrant and thrilling adventure. For example, you'll be able to enlist the help of a dog named Fluffy, but only when he's not napping!

I have played a few of these games in the past weeks and was really looking forward to robin hood winds of freedom. sadly, i was really disappointed by this one. It does concentrate a tad more on the story, which is nice because i think the robin hood story is quite charming. the huge problem is that the game feels unintuitive and slow. there are often tasks that i really struggled to find, you are often tasked with opening up shortcuts but those are absolutely unnecessary and sometimes even a pain to find! And it's increadibly frustrating if you have freed up a level and just can't find whatever you are meant to free up. another problem is the ressources. production places don't stack your ressources. you have to collect whatever tehy spit out in order for them to produce more. i personally find that this makes lining up tasks much more difficult and annoying. the levels often feel unbalances for some reason and i've encountered way too many moments where i could only wait for ressources to be produced at the beginning of levels. it's really sad but after only about an hour of gameplay i am not really motivated anymore to continue... :/

These games are kind of my go-to when I'm struggling to figure out what to play, or feeling tired but not tired enough to sleep, or wanting to do something in my limited mom freetime but not wanting to think too hard. They're so peaceful. You collect resources, find hidden collectibles, and open up new parts of a map to collect better resources to work toward completing a level. It's a really nice brain scratch that makes you feel like you've accomplished something without 5000 mechanics to get in the way or block you. It helps that I really love Robin Hood, as well, so these are just really nice. Once I finish these, I'll probably pick up some more titles, though I honestly take my time to complete these games.
