FTL/Rimworld mix sounds like an interesting concept, the problem is that there wasn’t enough work put into the game to make it good. [list] [*] Extremely micro heavy.Having to target your weapons individually at the exact same things in the exact same enemy ships becomes annoying extremely fast. Moving suffocating workers to take a breath and moving them back to repair the hole in the hull is extremely annoying (yes, you could do that in FTL with 5 crew, here tho you will have 30+ crew). The same goes for combat preparations, as you either don’t bother with them and your workers will waste time getting to the battle stations when combat has already started, or you have to micro every single one of your gunners (up to 12) and engineers to their posts before the combat starts - and Rimworld had a defensive setup for ages at this point. [*] A lot of downtime. When you are not in combat you basically have nothing to do but to set the game at max speed and wait while your crew mines asteroids. [*] RNG difficulty. You got an enemy with weapons you didn’t get a defense against? You are dead. Didn’t get upgrades for your guns? Dead. Got an enemy that you have defences against?…6 found this helpful
Its less a station building game than a lesser version of FTL with the enemies coming to you. Build weapons. blow up ship. repeat ad nasuam. Some people might like this but to me? no. i would rather play FTL1 found this helpful
As a a cheap fun way to spend a few hours, I recommend this. It could be really great, but there's just not enough there right now to keep coming back, and given it's age I suspect this game is done. Still, picked it up in the sale and I don't feel I wasted my money.
Yes
It's a fun little game. I haven't had nearly as many RNG issues as some people have complained. But, it feels like the game is only about 50% done.
Great Game! It hooks you up and keeps you coming back for new runs!
