This has quickly become one of my favourite puzzles games in a while. It’s not one that I will likely spend lots of time on replaying, but I don’t doubt I will keep returning to it over time. I have a few gripes, particularly on one level, but to succinctly summaries my thoughts below: this is an easy recommend from me. What I really have to commend the game on is how just adding a seemingly simple twist to standard Sudoku introduces some really elegant and emergent logic. There are countless variations of Sudoku, but this remains the most interesting I’ve played or seen. It adds a surprisingly decent amount of complexity to the usual logic you’d use for Sudoku, out of what is arguably a pretty simple premise: change the shape of the board that you are using. Each board/puzzle is a series of circles; each circle has a centre and ring that must then contain one of each numbers 1-9 as usual. The game also introduces another simple rule on top of this: two consecutive numbers cannot be placed next to each other. For what seems like a fairly novel twist and minor rule addendum, you end up discovering some really interesting bits of logic through the game when it comes to the plac…

The best variant of Sudoku I've ever played. Plus, the mandalas are geometrically gorgeous

A very interesting twist on the Sudoku formula, highly recommended. Unfortunately, the last puzzle is a massive difficulty spike that really soured my experience, and now the spectre of near-completion hangs over the game for me.

It’s sudoku with a simple but effective twist. I don’t have much else to say. Definitely more fun to look at than sudoku.

Clever games curator review: 6/10 A novel variant on Sudoku that I think would be far more fun to play with pencil and paper than using a computer. The reason is that when solving a moderately complex puzzle you need to logic through all the implications of your choices. Making notes about what possible numbers can go in which cell is a very useful way to do that. Plus the spatial nature of this variant, with overlapping cells and constraints, strongly encourages sketching out possible solutions. The game has no way to do this and I was frequently left feeling that I would actually be happier if I just took a screenshot and tried to solve it using MS Paint. I don't know if it would be possible to modify the game to make it significantly more usable than MS Paint would be. But I feel like there hasn’t been much of an effort to do better than the bare minimum, which is allowing you to put numbers in the cells, or not. To be honest it’s possible that the game does offer some ways to freeform annotate the puzzles, but the interface is quite inscrutable with symbols that don’t make clear sense, buttons that don't seem to do an…

Fun Sudokulike game. The linux version didn't work, but windows+compatibility did.
