Ryzom characters are unusual in that they are not bound to a class. That means you don't have to choose between being a warrior, a mage, a harvester or a crafter. You can improve your skills in all these classes with only one character; you do not need to focus on one path. For example, you can, at your leisure, either train your pike handling, put on your magic amplifiers to heal or cast offensive spells, pick up your pickaxe and harvest materials, or go into crafting a new armor or weapon.
You have absolute freedom!
Ryzom offers official interactive events (with live NPC's), regular and varied, that evolve according to your actions. Nothing is preordained!
Would you like to create your own event? The Animation Team is always at your disposal and will gladly support and assist in logistics.
In addition, many guilds are prepared to open their doors to help your character evolve!

Picture yourself, in front of a city gate, looking at a far hill and sighting the scouts of a Kitin swarm. Now picture hundreds of Kitins following them, moving like a united and swarming army. Huge battles call for the cooperation of a great part of the community to counter these threatening invasions. And what if, one day, the Kitin were to win again, threatening hominity for the third time?
You can fight everywhere, but only when you wish to do so. Duels, outposts battles, faction of region fights... You are free to engage in them... or abstain!
Ryzom features an advanced havesting and crafting system.
Harvesting - allows you to dig materials from the ground depending on season and weather and your skill. It's not so simple once predators get involved!
Crafting - Careful combination of materials depending on their characteristics and colors, allows production of unique weapons and armors. Thousands of recipes are possible.

the game is a bit clunky, but that is survivable. What I absolutely loathe is the "2000's era" you must group up mentality of the game design. Being an extremely introverted misanthrope I am not interested in hanging out with "90 hundred" other futhermuckers....nope ... lost me forever with the group-up wall.2 found this helpful

Guys, fix that UI scaling! It's completely buggy. Nobody playing at high DPI? As soon as I can read "any"thing, I give a thumbs up. Also, the system recommendations aren't true for the game as it is today. As I can cook an egg on my onboard graphics, I would suggest at least 2 GB RAM on your graphics card. Otherwise, it reminds me of Runes of Magic. Just without those awful crashes for now. The tutorial is nice enough. If I weren't on Linux, I wouldn't be able to even try the game, as a single letter has the size of about half a millimeter. But it isn't any fun to have to zoom in to read the texts and to zoom out to see where I am walking all the time. It seems, the game isn't loading UI scaling at the start of the game. And it doesn't always take care of the scaling after saving settings.
hot trash, delayed confusing and by the time you figure out how to get past the tutorial you just feel like giving up on top of that they want you to pay for full game....strongly recommend find differnt mmo
1 - Looking for a new mmorpg to play. 2 - Find ryzom. 3 - Screenshots dont show what the game looks like, none. Same for vids. Pisses me off. 4 - Had to go youtube and type ryzom gameplay to know what the actual fk this looks like. 5 - Graphics look acceptable, but im already pissed i had to go to youtube to find gameplay. 6 - Still watched 10 minutes of josh hayes vid. 7 - Didnt see a single player in game. Looks dead. Combat boring. Gathering AWFULL. 8 - Too many other flaws to list here. If your curious go watch josh vid. Trash dead game 0/10
